Los Santos Emergency Medical Services
The One with all the Crisis Response Units
04, March, 2023
"One Team, One Mission, Saving Lives"

The Crisis Response Unit team is more than just stopping someone from making that last decision, it is about making connections with other human beings, they may be having a hard time but how we treat them as an individual is important. We all have bad days and good days, however sometimes a chain of events can occur in your life and some life changing moments can make a big impact leaving you to feel like there is no where else to turn, nothing else to achieve or look up to. CRU are here to tell you, show you, that you do have things to achieve, you do have something to live and fight for. Whether this be a career, your friends or family, your hobbies or... that mystery that is round the corner. You may not have a clear path to follow but I can assure you that with time and support, a path will be there to either be found or made by YOU.
CRU Head
Master EMT Charles Swift
CRU is a journey that I help my patients take. I am their guide and give them the tools they need in order to succeed. We are able to help someone in their darkest times and be a shining light to help guide them on their way to a better place. We do everything in our power to help heal the heart, body, and mind of each and every one of our patients. CRU is home.

Trust can be hard to come by from individuals, sometimes it is s gradual task to gain trust, and we expect no different. CRU want to get to know you for you, it helps us learn how we can support you, because everyone is different, we all progress and understand subjects differently. Yet all together we know we can fight past anything.

Many of the things that make us happy are within our control. Well being causes positive feelings and positive feelings cause well being. Investing in our happiness and well being creates a positive loop that is self-generating and self-sustaining. Positive, realistic thoughts can create an upward spiral of happiness. Helping yourself doesn’t mean isolating yourself or refusing help from others. There are things we can only get from other people but equally there are things we can only get from ourselves. Being mentally and emotionally strong isn’t always easy and requires effort. However, even negative events can be seen positively as chance to practice being stronger and an opportunity to gain wisdom that can help you in the future.

Coping with Depression

Stay in touch
Don't withdraw from life. Socialising can improve your mood. Keeping in touch with friends and family means you have someone to talk to when you feel low.
Be more active
Take up some form of exercise. There's evidence that exercise can help lift your mood. If you haven't exercised for a while, start gently by walking for 20 minutes every day.
Face your fears
Don't avoid the things you find difficult. When people feel low or anxious, they sometimes avoid talking to other people. Some people can lose their confidence in going out, driving or travelling. If this starts to happen, facing up to these situations will help them become easier.
Don't drink too much alcohol
For some people, alcohol can become a problem. You may drink more than usual as a way of coping with or hiding your emotions, or just to fill time. But alcohol won't help you solve your problems and could also make you feel more depressed.
Try to eat a healthy diet
Some people don't feel like eating when they're depressed and are at risk of becoming underweight. Others find comfort in food and can put on excess weight. Antidepressants can also affect your appetite.
Have a routine
When people feel down, they can get into poor sleep patterns, staying up late and sleeping during the day. Try to get up at your normal time and stick to your routine as much as possible. Not having a routine can affect your eating. Try to carry on cooking and eating regular meals.

Thankyou so much for reading Volume 3 of PR Spectactular... It was great to write about CRU! I hope you look forward to the next one!
