  • Citizens of San Andreas,

On the 18th of September, 2023 the San Andreas Judicial Branched published The Opening of Law Firms and Private Representation. Since that release many individuals have inquired about opening as a small family firm or even as a solo practitioner however, due to requirements set forth by the San Andreas Judicial Branch and San Andreas State Government, they were not able to do so.

Over the past several weeks have have implemented changes to allow for this and make the process smoother overall. Law Firms are now able to request approval from the San Andreas Judicial Branch using the Law Firm Recognition Requests section of our public website. If they meet the requirements and provide valuable information to prove they are qualified to operate a law firm. The San Andreas Bar Association will approve the request and issue them a Law Firm Approval Certificate.

They can then use this certificate to apply for the FSBL:05 - Law Firm license through the San Andreas State Government Business Licensing Desk. Pending they meet their requirements.

Recently the San Andreas State Government made changes to both the FSBL:06 - Legal Consultation Business license and the FSBL:05 - Law Firm license. To receive a business license to offer legal consultation you no longer require a commercial property to operate. In addition, to receive a law firm license you are no longer required to employ five individuals who meet the requirements to become Bar Licensed Attorneys. This change will allow for small family firms and solo practitioners to gain approval and licensing so they can represent individuals in our states courtrooms.

We hope these changes ultimately welcome new law firms into our state that can not only assist individuals requesting counsel, but reduce the need we have for bar licensed attorneys so we have the manpower needed to open the doors to Civil Court before the end of 2023. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to the Public Relation Division.
