  • Detailed information of your inquiry:
    • I am requesting comment from the Judicial Branch, surrounding the topic of Contempt of Court. The wider context of this topic can be found in the following LSPD Public Inquiry for background on the request.
      1. In the event evidence is found that individuals may have committed contempt of court, would investigations and charges be initiated by Law Enforcement or by the Judicial Branch?
      2. Has the LSPD reached out to the Judicial Branch regarding advice on any current potential breaches of Contempt of Court by Law Enforcement Officers, specifically in the events of that mentioned in the above Public Inquiry.
      3. Does the State of San Andreas have any statute of limitations on crimes?
      4. Can the Judicial Branch offer any comment regarding the possibility of investigation or charges against various LSPD officers for potential Contempt of Court, that has come to light through body cam footage submitted in evidence in during #22-CM-0020.

Re: Request for Information [Weazel News]

"EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW"

  • Mr. Wolff,
    • In regards to Question 1, both the Prosecution Division and Law Enforcement Agencies have the ability to investigate charges against any individual. Of course if the charges were being pursued they would need to go through different avenues to do so as the Prosecution Division must file for an indictment where Law Enforcement could charge without a formal case taking place beforehand.
    • In regards to Question 2, Judicial Branch command to my knowledge has not received any request from the Los Santos Police Department regarding the charge of Contempt of Court.
    • Currently the State of San Andreas does not have a Statue of Limitations however correspondence has been had between the Governors and Supreme Court Justices several months back in regards to the potential implementation of a Statute of Limitations however that is all the information we can give on the matter.
    • Due to the sensitive nature of the matter the Judicial Branch will not be commenting on Question 4.

      Respectfully,

      Chief Justice
      San Andreas Judicial Branch
