- Effective immediately, the sale of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Medicine (e.g. Painkillers) within vending machines is now strictly prohibited.
It has come to the attention of the State Government that several publicly-accessible vending machines are selling the products highlighted above. The current reason we require businesses to acquire GRBL:05 - Liquor and GRBL:07 - Tobacco business licenses are for regulation to ensure the safe sale of these products in a commercial setting, ensuring customers are above the age of 21 and businesses are accountable within a legal capacity if they break these regulations.
Exceptions to this restriction are vending machines inside a property with the relevant business licenses and ID checks upon entry.
Breach of these new regulations will result in confiscation of the vending machine and its contents and potential legal action.
