[NEWSLETTER #6] Event Showcase - Trick-Or-Treat

INTRODUCTION
This event showcase is not an event the State Government has run, but instead one in which we participated after being approached by Emily Corelle and Reggie Hoaggs of Weazel News and LSC respectively. Their idea was to have a multi-organizational Trick-or-treat event across the state where people participating will be required to dress up in costume and travel around the different organizations across the state. Each location hosted a different type of event and by participating in 3 events, participants would get 1 raffle entry to win the grand prize, and by completing all events, they would get 5 raffle entries.
SPONSORSHIPS
  • The grand prize for the event was a maxed Paragon, a luxury high-end vehicle worth hundreds of thousands of dollars!
James Eriksen, CEO of Motorsport offered to partially sponsor the event by selling the event organizers the vehicle for $100,000 (considerably much less than the $690,000 the vehicle is usually sold on the market).
  • The State Government covered the cost of this prize and also bought food, drink, and candy for the participants.
  • LSC upgraded the Paragon to its full potential, covering the full cost of the upgrade valued at $106,950.
  • John Everdeen, CEO of the Los Santos Theatre offered usage of his theatre for the raffle location at the end of the event whilst also screening a movie for all participants who were finished with the event.
  • We had an amazing poster made by the extremely talented Meghan Koharu:

LOCATIONS
Weazel News
  • Weazel News hosted the initial sign-ups for the event, as they were primarily the people organizing this event they had a spreadsheet they signed people up to and ensured they were all in fancy dress.

City Hall Los Santos Customs
  • Los Santos Customs hosted a tractor-pushing event where two tractors are set in the back of the shop in the truck bay area, and two teams compete to see who can push them back first.

    Image
Bayview
  • Bayview hosted an event called "Frightening Heights!", where participants were able to go up in a helicopter and parachute down onto a target in the Bayview parking lot. The closer to the center of the target they got, the more points they get.

Downtown Cab Co
  • DCC created a hide-and-seek haunted house where participants had to go around the haunted house to find hidden items and notes whilst being followed by DCC employees in fancy dress...Or were they real ghouls and monsters? Who knows.

San Andreas Department of Corrections
  • Finally, the SADOC. They hosted some lawnmower races around the dirt track around Bolingbroke Penitentiary.

CREDITS
First of all, we would like to thank Emily Corelle and Reggie Hoaggs for the immense amount of work they put into making this event work. Without both of them, this event would not have been possible.

Secondly, Meghan Koharu, and James Erikson, for their relevant contributions in the form of sponsors and services.

And lastly, Tyrone Cox, Lilmay Bryd, and Kourtney Lafleur for organizing the events for their locations.

The State Government loves to see organizations coming together for community events like this and we hope it opens the door for many more in the future!
