Superior Court of San Andreas
"EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW"

COURT DECISION

IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF SAN ANDREAS

State of San Andreas v. Hassan Readick
#22-CM-0066

A decision was reached in the above case on the 5th day of December, 2022.

In regards to the Motion to Suppress filed by the defense on November 23rd, 2022, I will be granting that motion. This is due to the courts belief that parts of the witness statement from Police Detective Willowick do constitute hearsay. This is due to a witness not being able to quote what somebody said outside of the courtroom.

Furthermore, in regards to the request for dismissal from the prosecution, I will be ruling the same as Associate Justice Mason in the case of #22-CM-0072. As the defendant's wishes have been made known to the defense and the defense has made meaningful communication with the defendant, I will not be dismissing the case on those grounds.

ISSUANCE OF VERDICT

IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF SAN ANDREAS

State of San Andreas v. Hassan Readick
#22-CM-0066

A decision was reached in the above case on the 18th day of December, 2022.

The court believes that during the trial the prosecution in this case was unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Readick was wearing a mask. This is due to no witness statement being made by anyone besides the original narrative in the arrest report and the alleged mask not being documented in any way in the evidence of the report.

However the court also believes that sufficient evidence was shown to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Readick resisted arrest by running away on foot. Even if this arrest was unjustified due to being found not guilty of the charges he was originally being arrested for, the law enforcement on scene were still conducting their duties to make a lawful arrest in which Mr. Readick resisted from.

It is with the above considerations that I issue the following verdict:
  • On the count of GM10 - Failure to Comply, I find the defendant, Hassan Readick, not guilty.
  • On the count of GM19 - Face Concealment (b), I find the defendant, Hassan Readick, not guilty.
  • On the count of GM04 - Resisting Arrest, I find the defendant, Hassan Readick, guilty.
