Opening the Doors to Bar Licensing

  • Citizens of San Andreas,

    The San Andreas Bar Association has opened the doors for all citizens to become Bar Licensed Attorneys. This does not mean that you have to be employed by the Judicial Branch or even a Law Firm within the state. Each and every citizens pending all requirements are met will be allowed to become licensed. Having this license will authorize the holder to practice law, offer legal advice, draft documents, and partake in other legal activities.

    However, Bar Licensed Attorneys who are not employed by the San Andreas Judicial Branch or a recognized Law Firm will not be allowed to represent clients in court proceedings, or file motions to the public docket on their behalf. Furthermore, their are several regulations and requirements you must follow and meet to take the examination. First, you must be at least 21 years of age, and you must be in good standing with the state; meaning, you must not have a warrant for your arrest, all citations must be paid at the time of requesting, and you have been clear of all misdemeanors for a minimum of 90 days and felonies for 2 years. We do not accept citizens who have received a felony charge in the last 2 years and any citizens who receives a felony after receiving their bar license will have it revoked.

    The Bar Examination itself is a 50 question multiple choice test that will assess one's knowledge of the penal code, courtroom procedures, and other various aspects of being an attorney. To pass the Bar Examination, you must receive a minimum score of 70%. Should you fail the examination, you must wait 72 hours after receiving your results before requesting another attempt.

    As for the cost to attempt the Bar Examination, For each examination requested, a fee of $50,000 or $30,000 if you are employed by a recognized Law Firm, must first be paid at City Hall to the San Andreas State Government. (( /donategovernment )) This fee can be paid by the person or by a law firm employing the person if they wish to do so. Once the fee is paid, they must save the receipt and submit a copy of it in the appropriate section on the form. If they fail the examination, they will be required to pay an additional $50,000 or $30,000 if they are employed by a recognized Law Firm, for each successive attempt.

    If a standalone citizen is wishing to become Bar Licensed, they will not receive any training. The only citizens that will receive training are those who are employed by the San Andreas Judicial Branch, or a Law Firm recognized by the state. The Bar Associate has decided to allow citizens to become licensed so that everyone regardless or their background, has a fair chance to pursue their passion.
