  • Citizens of San Andreas,

Due to the recent influx of fatal motor vehicle accidents around the state the San Andreas Judicial Branch in conjunction with the San Andreas State Government sat down to battle the issue. Resulting from this is a penal code amendment adding a provision to "VM01 - Operating a Vehicle without a Valid License" writing into law that any vehicle that is 5,000 kg or over can only be legally operated by a person holding a valid Trucker's License

This change will not only affect citizens but also Law Enforcement personnel, and government funded agencies like Los Santos Customs, Bayview, and Downtown Cab Company as there are no exemptions written into the law. At the footer of this announcement you will find a list of vehicles that will require a Trucker's License from the Department of Motor Vehicles to operate. This list is all inclusive meaning there will be civilian, commercial, and government vehicles listed. If you do not see your vehicle listed but want to ensure you are adhering to the penal code, you can visit one of the mechanic shops and check your vehicles catalog where you can find the vehicle weight (kg) listed.

The main purpose of this change, as stated, is to combat fatal motor vehicle accidents around the state. Due to the recent influx of citizens choosing careers surrounding the operation of these large vehicles it is of the utmost importance that all drivers are well educated on how to operate them. The freelance workers this amendment will impact the most is the Incident Management Workers. Whilst we wanted to ensure that all citizens have the same opportunities to work these jobs we also had to prioritize safety. As seen below, the 10 passenger vehicle, the Vetir, used by all Incident Management Workers across the state will now require a truckers license to operate.

"VM01 - Operating a Vehicle without a Valid License" is a vehicular misdemeanor charge, accompanied by 10 months of incarceration, a $2,000 fine, and a 1 day suspension of your Driver's License and/or Trucker's License if applicable. Both Law Enforcement Agencies operating within the state have Traffic/Highway Enforcement Divisions that will be on high alert following this change. If you are found to be in violation, there will be no room for leniency. The safety of our citizens is our highest priority.

This change will go into effect within the coming days following this announcement; please use this time to obtain a Trucker's License from the Department of Motor Vehicles located in the southwest part of La Puerta in Los Santos if you plan to operate these vehicles. For any questions or concerns following this change, feel free to contact a member of the San Andreas Judicial Branch.
