The Los Santos Police Department had the unfortunate but necessary task of terminating the employment of Police Cadet Theo Myers, following a conclusive investigation into allegations of misconduct and culminating in breaches of the force continuum whilst at the Bolingbroke Correctional Facility on the 29th of June, 2022.

Police Cadet Theo Myers joined the department following the graduation of his Police Academy on the 4th of June, 2022. During his short stint with the department, Mr. Myers had shown a desire to learn as well as demonstrating his commitment to hard work with some impressive shift hours.

Unfortunately however, in recent days, it had become apparent to the Supervisory Staff that Mr. Myers was displaying serious cause for concern, both in his actions and his increasingly unprofessional outbursts. In his interview, Mr. Myers had told us of his enthusiasm for protecting and serving his community the right way but what has came to light showed that his opinions on policing were not most certainly not in line with the values of our department.

On a prior occasion, Mr. Myers took a GPS device from a deceased civilian and made an inappropriate remark about the civilian no longer needing it. He was issued with a 48 hour suspension, not just for taking the GPS but also, for the manner in which he tried to defend his unprofessional actions.

On the 29th of June, during a routine arrest procedure at the Bolingbroke Penitentiary, Mr. Myers was struck in the face by the suspect he was processing. The suspect was then successfully restrained by the Cadet's partner and a Correctional Officer. However, when the Cadet got back to his feet, he proceeded to strike the suspect with his baton when the suspect was in no position to defend themselves. Furthermore when confronted about his actions, Mr. Myers displayed unnecessary hostility and zero remorse for this attack and simply refused to listen to reason.

The Los Santos Police Department takes a zero tolerance policy on assault of our Police Officers and feel strongly we have a legal right to defend ourselves when enforcing the law. At the same time however, we are trained to ensure that response is proportionate and with a justifiable use of appropriate force. In this instance, given the manner of the breach and the attitude that we feel is unbecoming of an employee of the LSPD, we had no alternative but terminate Mr. Myers' employment with us effective immediately.

Given the nature of the violation, we have also taken measures to issue Mr. Myers with criminal charges. The Los Santos Police Department serves and enforces the law, we are not above it. In further publicising this regrettable incident, we want to reassure the citizens of our beautiful city that we continue to embody a steadfast commitment to our core principles and possess an unshakeable resolve when it comes to fair and just enforcement of the law.
