v.
Sai Modi
INDICTMENT
- THE PROSECUTION CHARGES THAT:
- On 15/JUN/2022, I (Attorney General Hugh R. Allgood) was notified by Chief Justice Colt Daniels that Senior Prosecutor Sai Modi had been placed on administrative leave regarding a bar ethics review complaint. During my review of this complaint, I observed cellular phone video recorded by a witness which shows Mr. Modi throw a punch at a man during the course of a verbal altercation. When inquired about his actions, Mr. Modi admits to losing his composure and throwing the first punch, but missing. Mr. Modi claims the reasoning for the lose of composure is because the complainant was antagonizing him by calling him names and recording him.
Regardless of position in society, no one is above the law... Mr. Modi is no exception. The acts depicted on the video support a charge of GM02 - battery, "Willful and unlawful use of force or violence upon the person of another."
