Granted after being chosen as the employee of the month.

I am proud to announce the Employee of the Month for May 2022, Master EMT Emilia Thalmer. Ms. Thalmer joined the Los Santos Emergency Medical Services at the end of August 2021. Since day one she has worked incredibly hard to provide quality medical care when assisting citizens in need of aid.
On the 2nd of April 2022, she was entrusted with the position as the Assistant Head of the Basic Life Support division and had since then continued to improve the division both internally and externally.

CALL 911 IN EMERGENCIES
Image

We have all been there. It's a sunny day and you are riding your BMX over a ramp, but something goes wrong and you fall off, injuring yourself. You walk down the street one day on your way to work, but as you cross the street, a car comes flying past you, crashing into the guardrail trying not to hit you.

Our employees are ready to respond and assist you. We have tools and vehicles that are specially designed to be able to reach you in every location and situation. Our operations are dependent on calls from citizens that require aid. Next time you find yourself in a situation, we will strongly recommend you to call 911 to receive the proper care instead of just calling a friend.

There are things that are important to think about and do in an emergency
  • If the danger is still present, leave
  • Call 911!
  • Provide first aid to any injured people and move them out of danger
  • Do not leave before help has arrived
HEART HEALTH

Healthy Heart Tips to Help Keep the Doctor Away!

Your heart is a vital part of your circulatory system and is the main muscle keeping you alive! It is important to keep the heart healthy as long as you can, to keep you away from medication and treatment as long as possible. Did you know that the average heart is the size of a fist in an adult? Isn't that kind of cool? Here's another cool fun fact - If you were to stretch out your blood vessel system, it would extend over 60,000 miles.

Here are some tips to keep your heart healthy

Get active each day and week
  • Did you know, it is recommended to be active for about 30 minutes a day? You can do fun activities like walking, running, swimming, BMX'ing, playing football with your friends, or walking your dog.

Stop smoking!
  • Smoking kills, that's all I got to say

Sleep!
  • Not getting enough, or getting too much sleep can damage your health. When you sleep, your body is able to relax and repair itself. Getting a lot of sleep on your day off is not going to help, You need a good routine!

Eat healthy fats
  • Fat is not fat! For contains healthy and unhealthy fats. Vegetables, nuts, and fish can reduce the risk of heart disease. Even avocado. Everyone likes avocado toast right?`It is easy to make smaller changes that will bring good outcomes. Reduce the amount of dressing and sauce and fried foods.
2022 RANK ADJUSTMENTS

MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF OF EMS

I am glad to be able to provide this Press Release from the LSEMS. Since the start of March 2022, the department has seen bigger changes made. Internally, divisions have been reworked to better be able to support the needs of the citizens of Los Santos and we are still actively improving programs to further expand our knowledge and services.

For the past months, a lot of focus and work has been set in to strengthen the relationship between the Medical Department and the other Government Departments. We have been sharing experience and knowledge to better programs and interdepartmental relations.

I am excited to see the future of the medical department and to see how the hard work will pay off in the end. Thank you for reading this newsletter and for your support!
