OFFICER OF THE MONTH

    -
Each month, one officer is selected by our Police Supervisors to receive this most prestigious award. This award is an overall congratulation for universal commitment, achievement, and excellence throughout the department. An officer who achieves this award is an exemplary member of the department who should be looked up to as an inspiration and role-model.

Police Officer II Ace Butoslav first joined the Los Santos Police Department following his graduation from the Los Santos Police Academy on the 24th of January, 2021. Upon graduation, Officer Butoslav enrolled in the Field Training Program that, due to personal circumstances, he was unable to complete at the time. Officer Butoslav then took a brief leave from the Department, opting to return in July 2021. On August 16th, 2021, Officer Butoslav passed the Field Training Program and was subsequently promoted to Police Officer I on August 25th, 2021.

On the 20th of October 2021, Officer Butoslav was upgraded to Police Officer II, which allowed him to pursue traffic enforcement through the Vinewood Traffic Division, a career choice that later became apparent as a passion of Officer Butoslav. On the 31st of October 2021, Officer Butoslav was reassigned as a Traffic Officer within the Vinewood Traffic Division.

In light of personal reasons and circumstances, after serving as a Traffic Officer for months, Officer Butoslav had to take a prolonged leave from the Department in January 2022. Making a return as a Police Officer I in March 2022, Officer Butoslav continued to dedicate himself to traffic enforcement within the Los Santos Police Department and was quickly assigned to the Vinewood Traffic Division again. His continued efforts within his specialization in the Los Santos Police Department then saw Officer Butoslav upgraded to Police Officer II.

Throughout the month of May, Officer Butoslav has continuously shown his efforts and dedication within the Vinewood Traffic Division as he has been exceeding internal targets by regularly scheduling and hosting operations within the division, ensuring that their calendar was active during the month. What is more, Officer Butoslav submitted an average of 30 pieces of paperwork per week and maintained a weekly average of 59.58 shift hours during the month of May.

For that, the Los Santos Police Department wishes to congratulate Officer Butoslav on his performance and the recognition thereof during the month of May by the issuance of the Officer of the Month award, which is an award that signifies universal commitment and excellence as an officer.

Moreover, not only has Officer Butoslav been nominated and voted by Police Supervisors and Command Staff as the recipient of the Officer of the Month award, but through selection by the Field Training Division, he will also be the recipient of the Field Training Officer of the Month award this month.
Field Training Command wrote:For the Field Training Officer of the Month, Field Training Division Command would like to congratulate Police Officer II Ace Butoslav. Officer Butoslav has been with the Division since May 6th and has risen to be nominated as the Field Training Officer of the Month due to his consistent quality Field Training Officer work.

FEATURED EMPLOYEE

Police Officer I Mike Luigi's grandparents migrated to the USA in 1958 from Italy when his father was only 8. After acquiring citizenship, his father joined the San Fierro Police Department. During his service, his father met his mother. Mike Luigi was born in 1997. Raised mostly by his mother, as his father focused on his career with the SFPD to improve the life of his family, Officer Luigi was fortunate enough to be able to enroll in the University of San Andreas, Los Santos.

Once Officer Luigi graduated from ULSA, he dedicated time to learning the craft from his father and participated in multiple official programs of the SFPD, such as but not limited to firearms training programs.

Unfortunately, in March 2019, Officer Luigi's father passed away, prompting his decision to move to the City of Los Santos. Given his passion and family history, Officer Luigi intended to pursue a career as a law enforcement officer to follow in his father's footsteps.

To maintain financial stability while seeking out opportunities in the City of Los Santos, Officer Luigi initially worked part-time as a bus driver to make due. Officer Luigi made it a point to express the joy he would get from picking individuals up at bus stops and that he had a love for the company of Los Santos citizens.

Officer Luigi first became a part of the Los Santos Police Department when he graduated from the Los Santos Police Academy on March 26th, 2021. Quickly making his way through the Field Training Program in which he was enrolled, he was promoted to Police Officer I on April 23rd, 2021. Due to personal circumstances, Officer Luigi resigned from the Los Santos Police Department on May 23rd, 2021.

Throughout his initial brief tenure with the Los Santos Police Department, Officer Luigi had a passion for traffic enforcement, and while he was unable to become a part of the Traffic Division when he initially served, he further pursued this passion when he filed for reinstatement and returned to the Department on April 26th, 2022. Officer Luigi was reassigned to the Vinewood Traffic Division on May 15th, 2022.

Officer Luigi holds the belief that traffic offenses are serious offenses and offenses that are often overlooked, at that. He expressed that he believes that the laws should be upheld and enforced as written in the State of San Andreas Penal Code.

What is more, Officer Luigi expressed that he is indiscriminate in his enforcement of the law. He stated that no matter who is clocked on his speed radar, he will uphold and enforce the law as it is intended to, regardless of any potential position within any agency that the individual committing the infraction or crime may hold.

When Officer Luigi was asked what he enjoys most about his job with the Los Santos Police Department, he stated that he feels like he is able to and is currently making an impact. Officer Luigi heavily patrols the San Andreas Avenue area and frequently performs speed traps, most commonly in what now has been coined "Luigi Alley" by many. With a significant drop in traffic violations, Officer Luigi truly believes that this is proof that his hard work and efforts are paying off and are effective, which is something in which he takes pride.

According to Officer Luigi, the greatest career lesson he has learned thus far is "trust your judgment, even when faced with adversity". Having been on the receiving end of critique regarding his method of law enforcement, Officer Luigi continues to trust himself and the penal code he upholds and enforces.

A fun fact he shared with the Media Relations Division is that Officer Luigi enjoys and often eats pizza and that if he were able to meet any person in the world, it would be Genghis Khan, as he stated that there are a lot of descendants of Genghis Khan due to the conquering, as he was a great leader who achieved a large amount during his reign.

    Image

On the 22nd of May 2022, Police Officer I Mike Luigi was issued the Administration Commendation Award for continuously going above and beyond the standard set by the Los Santos Police Department. He delivered a significant amount of administration across a wide variety of different reports, none falling short in quality despite the quantity. He is extremely proud of this fact, and so is the Department.

One thing can be said for certain, which is that Officer Luigi is making an impact. From humble beginnings as the son of an immigrant, to now proudly protecting the citizen of Los Santos; Mike Luigi's enforcement of the penal code is making a difference within our city.
