  • On Sunday, May 24th, around the hours of 10:30 PM, there was a massive gun trafficking bust at the Richards Majestic apartment complex in the city limits. After the initial raid, a total of 11 firearms, 8 illegal suppressors, and one set of body armor were discovered. This is estimated to be around $200,000 in street value at a minimum. The primary suspect in the case was swiftly apprehended by Vice Investigators and sentenced to a total of 165 months in the Bollingbroke Penitentiary on various weapons charges.

The raid occurred following a Detention Operation executed by the Detention & Parole Bureau, the suspect was seen leaving his apartment with multiple illegal contraband, including 88 grams of marijuana, two illegal .50 caliber sidearms, and a silencer. After the suspect was arrested, the aforementioned bureau filed a search warrant request, and it was accepted.

Together, the Detention and Parole Bureau, the Sheriff's Investigation Bureau, and the Special Enforcement Detail all collaborated to execute the search warrant. Upon entering the property, they began an initial sweep and deep examination of all access points. After the scene was concluded, the Sheriff's Department had seized 1x's Micro SMG, 50x's Micro SMG rounds, 1x's Pump Shotgun, 100x's shotgun shells, 9x's .50 Caliber sidearms, 450x's .50 sidearm rounds 8x's silencers and a kevlar vest. Below are pictures of the contraband.

After all contraband was removed from the apartment, it was brought to Paleto Station by highly skilled members of the Sheriff’s Investigations Bureau. After several hours and multiple forensic tests, the Investigators had established a specific suspect and an extensive case file was created.

Following the confirmation, Investigators from the Vice Unit of the Major Crimes Division spearheaded by Captain Groyce conducted tireless investigations and data cross-referencing.

The next day a joint operation between Vice Investigators and the Special Enforcement Detail secured the suspect where he was eventually pulled over, detained, and brought to the station. He was then given a one-way ticket to the Department of Corrections for a lengthy visit. Without the help and fluidity of the department's three bureaus, this bust would have never happened.
