On the 9th of April in the late afternoon of last Saturday around 2000, the Gang and Narcotics Division received credible intelligence regarding a weapon shipment handled by an organized criminal group just north of Chumash - a few hundred meters north-east of the Great Ocean Highway. Following developments, Detectives and Gang Officers of both the Gang and Narcotics Division and Gang Field Unit began preparations to intercept the shipment with the assistance of the Metropolitan Division, and the County Sherriff's Special Enforcement Detail.

At approximately 2025 a 911 call was made just north of Chumash - reporting a large gang skirmish between two rival gangs, the Shenzhen Dragons and Bridge Street Brotherhood, both of which have largely contributed to the issue of rising gang violence in the State. An emergency response followed from both the Los Santos Police Department and the Los Santos County Sherriff's Department - a joint frequency was employed to coordinate units. The airship, a helicopter unit, was the first unit to establish visual contact and provide an overview of the situation. As units entered the very large scene that had occupied the intersection between Route 68, the Great Ocean Highway, and Fort Zancudo a number of gang-affiliated individuals fled the scene - leaving their associates and rivals alike.

Following the closure of the scene and the establishment of a perimeter, 4 individuals that were gravely injured were provided medical attention as the Los Santos Emergency Medical Services dispatched first responders to assist. All four individuals were confirmed to be gang affiliated and involved in the skirmish that left close to a dozen other individuals deceased. Members of the two gangs were ever so present in the ongoing situation, circling the cordoned area with the goal to disrupt law enforcement. The Metropolitan Division provided support for Patrol Officers on the scene after setting up a vantage point - pointing out threats with ease.

After the four suspects were secured and treated, a large number of narcotics and firearms were retrieved and seized from a number of vehicles, suspects, and deceased individuals present on the scene. An estimated street value of the seized items nets up to $200,000.00 between the weapons, weapon modifications, ammunition, body armor, narcotics, drug manufacturing equipment, and radios. The Gang and Narcotics Division is working tirelessly to suppress and disrupt gang operations through the Gang Field Unit, and the parent Detective Unit that operates within the Gang and Narcotics Division.
