In the late afternoon of Saturday, the 19th of March a call came in from a concerned citizen reporting smoke coming out of Weazel Apartments on Movie Star Way. Multiple Los Santos Police Department units responded to the initial area of the call and started to set up security, placing blockades to secure the entrance of the apartment. During this time the Metropolitan Division and Detective Bureau were notified and responded. Multiple civilians gathered in a crowd around the apartment, but as smoke was billowing from one of the floors and there were multiple unknown factors, the entrance was cordoned off and for their safety, no one was allowed to enter the apartment complex.

One person was initially detained trying to make their way into the apartments and escorted off the premises. As the source of the fire was located, and the proper apartment reached, a faint chemical smell was detected outside the entrance. The Los Santos Emergency Medical Services were immediately notified and a ladder truck responded to the scene. In the meantime, for their own safety, the Metropolitan Division officers also suited up in special HAZMAT suits to keep them safe from any harmful fumes or gas. The crowd started to swell and more people stood by the barricades looking on.

While the fire department broke down the door to the apartment, and while it was being secured a few individuals broke away from the crowd. They pulled out heavy weapons, firing on multiple officers outside the scene. Being on their guard, multiple officers outside the apartments returned fire while multiple tactical officers already inside came to assist. Immediately other officers in the city and from the Sheriff's Department responded, hearing the request for assistance. All individuals who opened fire, later verified as gang-affiliated, were incapacitated, while one Los Santos Police Officer was critically wounded.

As Police and Sheriff’s Department units secured the scene, and the gunmen, the Los Santos Emergency Medical Department was contacted to treat the injured officer and suspects. The Los Santos Police Officer was taken to Pillbox Medical Center for further treatment in critical condition, the officer was quickly stabilized and thankfully discharged the same day. All three individuals were charged and taken to Mount Zonah Hospital for initial treatment, then escorted to the Department of Corrections. The suspects were confirmed to have affiliation with the criminal organization known as the “Russians”.

Once the exterior was secured and locked down, the apartment was searched by the Metropolitan Division, all fires and noxious fumes were cleared by the firefighters on scene and Detectives confiscated multiple pieces of narcotics manufacturing equipment, the cause of the initial fire, as well as other chemicals and multiple bags of LSD were seized. An illegal submachine gun, pump-action shotgun, several 50 caliber pistols, and illegal accessories were also seized from the suspects in relation to the shooting. One person tied to the manufacturing of the narcotics and subsequent fire was found dead on arrival. The injured police officer has since recovered completely from his wounds.
