LSPD and DCC Host Taxi Appreciation Day Event

Los Santos: On the evening of June 22nd, the Los Santos Police Department hosted a collaborative event with the Downtown Cab Company, spearheaded by Captain III Jessica Nash. The event was thought of and launched as an initiative to recognize the transportation company for its consistency and reliability.
Senior and seasoned officers of the Los Santos Police Department paired up with experienced drivers of the Downtown Cab Company in a collaborative experience, allowing the taxi drivers to operate and transport civilians across the State in decommissioned police vehicles, made available by the Department's motor transport division.
The idea of the event, spearheaded by Captain III Jessica Nash, Officer-in-Charge, Community Affairs Section, was grounded in the belief that the Downtown Cab Company was deserving of recognition and appreciation for their dedication to being a reliable and consistent transportation company for years.
The event proposal was then communicated between the Los Santos Police Department and the Downtown Cab Company, and planning began to realize the event. The Media Relations Division collected the following statement for publication:

Captain III Jessica Nash wrote: In honor of the hard-working and dedicated employees of the Downtown Taxi Company, the LSPD's motor transport division provided five decommissioned Crown Victoria's to be utilized as transport vehicles for Downtown Cab Company taxi fares as an ode to their unwavering commitment and dedication to the people of Los Santos, and our own appreciation to their service. For two hours, lucky fares were transported to their destinations for free in these classic cruisers and a lucky few were given a sugary donut!
It was stipulated department-wise that we have more senior or seasoned officers volunteer their time, mostly to ensure the safety of the drivers during the event but also as veteran citizens who have utilized the DCC's services over the years and wish to display their own personal gratitude towards the company. In turn, the DCC provided their most experienced drivers, equipped with months or years of experience in the company and a wealth of fascinating tales! Despite a donut importation shortage, we were able to offer some of the customers a tasty treat but fed both the drivers and passengers with the cheesiest of school-disco-esque tunes for the journey.
It was most enjoyable to be able to provide good company and conversation, whilst also getting this back from the DCC whilst we transported Los Santos citizens across the county.
Special thanks to the officers who donated their time and zany personalities to accompany each driver on their journeys!

Chief of Police Elena Flores wrote: I am beyond happy to see the Department's Community Affairs Section come to fruition under Captain Jessica Nash, who has brought nothing but fresh ideas to the table.
She coordinated this event which was founded from her own appreciation for the transportation company, and turned it into an enjoyable experience for LSPD officers, taxi drivers, and civilians who managed to get a taxi ride during the duration of the event.
I am grateful for her efforts and hopeful for the future of the collaborative events between the Department and other organizations.
The collaborative event between the Los Santos Police Department and the Downtown Cab Company was a success and turned out to be an overall enjoyable time for all participants. We wish to extend our gratitude to Captain Jessica Nash and the managers of Downtown Cab Company for making this event happen.
