Los Santos, San Andreas

Los Santos: On the 4th of May 2024, officers of the Los Santos Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Division, in conjunction with detectives of the Detective Bureau, conducted a bait car operation around Legion Square, a populated area in the heart of Los Santos.
Bait cars are a common tactic applied by law enforcement, using a vehicle, often one of high value or filled with valuable items to draw attention, typically left unlocked and parked in a high-auto-theft area to capture car thieves or burglars who steal possessions from cars.
Under the leadership of Traffic Coordinator Police Officer III+1 Mark Payne, the operation unfolded over a duration of forty-five minutes, on Saturday evening. During this time, a vehicle was prepared and planted at Legion Square's Public Parking lot while the traffic officers and detectives waited for the signal to move in.
Not long after the initial planting of the vehicle, an individual walked up to the vehicle, entered it, and then began to drive away. The signal was given and the traffic officers proceeded with the initiation of a stop on the vehicle, resulting in the arrest of the driver, who was identified as Nathan Jenkins.
Jenkins was then charged with GF11 - Grand Theft Auto and VM02 - Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended License upon the discovery that Jenkins was operating the stolen vehicle with a suspended driver's license. Jenkins was then transported to and was processed at Bolingbroke Penitentiary where they served their sentence.
