Los Santos: On April 21st, officers of the Metropolitan Division were informed that a government official was being held hostage in her own apartment. In order to assess and recover the hostage, the Metropolitan Division coordinated their efforts with officers of the Gang and Narcotics Division to obtain information critical to ensuring the safe recovery of the hostage.
Once the apartment was located, officers of the Metropolitan Division along with detectives of the Gang and Narcotics Division staged outside the residence, preparing to make entry if negotiations could not bring the situation to an acceptable conclusion. The suspect, armed with a suppressed pistol, refused any reason negotiations from the officers for the safe return of the Government Official.
Negotiators exhausted all efforts and attempts at peaceful avenues of resolution, resulting in the decision being made to breach the room and neutralize the suspect in order to safely recover the hostage. Officers made forceful entry into the property and after assessing the situation to ensure that any action taken was carried out concerning the life of the hostage inside of the property, incapacitated the suspect.
The hostage was secured from the situation and despite being badly shaken by the experience was otherwise unharmed, and the possessions that had been taken from the residence of the hostage were also returned to her.

Government Official Taken Hostage
