Los Santos: The Los Santos Police Department are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the murder of a 55-year-old male, white, Vinewood resident.

On April 22nd, 2024, at 7:24 p.m., Vinewood Patrol Officers responded to a radio call of a potential Battery situation, at the Pink Cage Motel, in Vinewood. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim inside the room laying on the ground, face down. His hands and feet had been forcefully zip tied together, as indicated by struggle marks around these areas on the victim. There were also strangulation marks on his neck. The murder does not appear at this time to have been sexually motivated and nothing appears to have been taken from the room, as the victim still had his wallet and phone on him.

The Los Santos Emergency Medical Services Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene shortly thereafter. We are not able to publicly disclose the identify of the deceased, at this time, as we're in the process of contacting the victim's next of kin.

The LSPD's Robbery-Homicide Unit responded and assumed responsibility for the scene. Detectives have now learned that the victim was found originally by a security guard at the location. The victim had been a resident of the Pink Cage Motel for a number of weeks but had made complaints to the management about the alarm at the nearby bank going off on a regular basis and a frequent number of dirt-bikes stationed outside.

Police Detective Hector Mayfield, LSPD Robbery-Homicide wrote:Detectives from our Robbery-Homicide Unit will continue our investigation, and our conclusions will be sent to the District Attorney's office alongside the autopsy report from the Coroner's Office, to discuss any potential charges.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victim, and hope to see justice served in this heinous crime. Any member of the public who may have any relevant information in this case is encouraged to contact us by calling 911, or visiting the Mission Row police station and speaking with a Detective.
Detectives will continue to canvass the area for any further leads and evidence, but we ask the general public to avoid going to the area unnecessarily for the next few days while we investigate further.
