INTRODUCTION
    Image

Is it already March? Although February is the shortest month and it indeed went by in a flash even though it had a whole extra day this leap year! February has been mostly quiet (uh oh we said the Q word), but we've had a lot of employees doing amazing work and getting rewarded for it, progressing upwards, and improving their skillsets, which you can find more about below in the Rank Adjustments section, detailing all the medics that have moved up in rank.

As we work on some internal changes and updates to documentation, we have seen a notable reinforcement of both our AMU and CRU divisions, increasing in throughput and numbers of personnel across the board - this has allowed us to prevent backlogs on Public Requests and to stay on top of them for an extended period of time.

Pillbox has seen an improvement in its CCTV camera count and coverage, allowing for increased safety of staff, visitors, and patients. Surveillance now covers all the space around the hospital, as well as improving on some angles within both the Upper and Lower Pillbox indoors. We would like to remind everyone that we are here to save and help those in need, and a medic is the last person you'd want to be annoyed at you, you just might need a hand to get up off the ground after a tumble tomorrow!
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH | FEBRUARY 2024
      EMT-A Viktor Markov
Viktor is our Employee of the Month for February 2024! He is pictured above mid-surgery, about to put the patient to sleep! He has been excelling in his duties as an EMT within divisions and in the field, as well as divisional Assistant Head of AMU. Today we commend him for his high quantity and high quality work - we are excited to see what more he has to bring to the department! Thank you for your services, keep on keeping on!

DIVISION SPOTLIGHT | BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
      spacer
The Basic Life Support Division, more commonly known as just BLS, is a division that teaches people who aren't a part of MD or medically trained in any sort of way so that they too are able to help others when first aid is required!
BLS has always been a crucial division for the public dealings of our department, proving time and time again to be an important staple of our public image, ensuring that every applicant is tended to and treated fairly, as well as taught the most optimal way.

Whether you're a police officer, a trucker or just a civilian who dabbles in other fields of work, having a BLS license is very useful so that you have the knowledge and capability to help those who are injured by providing first aid until professional help arrives, as saving a life can be a difference of minutes or even seconds at times.
            Image

Should you wish to contact BLS Divisional Leadership - you can do that via our Points of Contact page (click)! Our Head of BLS, Senior Paramedic Lucine Moon, and the Assistant Head of BLS Lead Paramedic are always more than happy to assist with any questions or possible requests for private classes (held for groups or organizations).

            THE STARS OF LSEMS
            Image
The city has recently become a much brighter and more lively place, from a new mechanic shop to an amazing billboard on the road north on Senora Freeway.
A few members of LSEMS, current and previous, have been blessed with signs to commemorate their service to the city.
They can be found outside of the city bank on both sides of the street and a few of them even have special decorations to mark the people they have been given to.

              BASIC MEDICAL INFORMATION
                Image
                Unresponsive Patient
There are many reasons that a patient can be responsive from being shot, having a head injury or falling unconscuios due to other health concerns. If there are no external injuries it is almost impossible to determine the cause of the injury. While an assessment is done it is important that a medic is called.
                  • Ensure that there is no danger in the area.
                  • Perform a sternal rub. This is when you rub your knuckles of a closed fist firmly and vigorously on a patient's chest.
                  • Place your hands under their jaw and thrust it forward to look inside their throat and mouth for any obstruction.
                  • Assess the patient’s breathing. Check to see if their chest rises or if they have rapid breathing.
                  • Assess the patient’s circulation. Check to see if their skin is pale.
                  • If they do not have a pulse then immediately begin to perform CPR and call 911.

                          Charges Information
There are multiple felonies and charges that will default the application status as DENIED regardless of references, letters of recommendation, or programs passed**:
                          • Serious Felonies (SF) except for SF03 & SF07
                          • Drug Felonies (DF)
                          • GF01 - Child Endangerment
                          • GF04 - Sexual Assault
                          • GF13 - Arson
                          • GF14 - False Impersonation
                          • GF16 - Tampering with Evidence
                          • GF17 - Rape
                          • GF20 - Possession of Human Body Tissue
                          • GF21 - Prison Break
                          • GF24 - Perjury

There are multiple felonies and charges that will set the application status as DENIED unless the applicant successfully underwent SADOC's Felon Reformation Program:
                          • GF19 - Abuse or Desecration of Dead Human Body
                          • SF03 - Involuntary or Vehicular Manslaughter
                          • SF07 - Bank Robbery
                          • WF01 - Assault with a Deadly Weapon
                          • WF02 - Shooting from a Vehicle (Drive-By)
                          • Drug Misdemeanours (DM)

Additionally, Firearm Possession Charges are categorized as such:
                          • WM02 - Possession of a Class 1 Firearm - 2 months*
                          • WF03 - Possession of a Class 2 Firearm - 6 months*
                          • WF04 - Possession of a Class 3 Firearm - 6 months*
                          • WF05 - Possession of a Class 4 Firearm - 6 months*

Felonies that are outside the charges mentioned above have a wait time of 6 months*.

Other Misdemeanors that are outside the charges mentioned above have a wait time of 2 months*

NOTE* The applicant may go through the San Andreas Department of Correction's Felon Reformation Program before applying and provide a reference for the recruitment personnel to review in order to shorten the wait time. Undergoing the Felon Reformation Program does not guarantee leniency, as applicants' criminal records are considered on a case-by-case basis, and on the other hand, we may be more lenient towards one-time offenders than repeat ones.
Additionally, employment with a clean track record within more lenient government-funded organizations, agencies, companies, and firms may contribute positively toward each individual case.

NOTE** Only in cases of charges that are 12 months or older, special reviews may take place for one-time offenders for charges that are otherwise entirely eliminatory. These reviews would require substantial feedback from another government-funded employer.

Should you wish to verify or get more information on the subject of criminal records and their interaction(s) with our recruitment procedures, contact ✉︎ Emilia Thalmer or ✉︎ Grant Adams.

Another month, another period of growth and prosperity for the department! We've continued to grow our roots thicker and deeper, and have been ensuring the department and its dealings operate smoothly. A new batch of supervisory personnel has been getting trained & certified throughout the month of February, forming an even stronger Leadership Team, now counting a strong 20 people. The entire department currently counts a total of 62 people, which is an incredible increase over the 34 we had at the end of May 2023, nearly doubling our employee count since.

None of this would be possible without cooperation and communication, and I'm thankful for this to my team. Keep up the fantastic work, and keep on keeping on.
