  • On Saturday the 27th of January, The Recruitment and Employment Division hosted a Walk-In Recruitment event to reach out to more citizens of Los Santos and recruit new academy students for the upcoming academy. A total of 86 individuals were registered to attend the event, where 28 individuals passed our initial background checks and were invited to conduct an interview. A total of 15 individuals passed the process and attended Academy #82 which was hosted the day after, on Sunday the 28th of January.

We have spoken with four Deputies who were mainly in charge of the recruitment events hosted on the 27th and 28th of January and below you can read more about their thoughts during the process of planning, hosting, and the aftermath of the events.
Commander Ian Walter wrote: The Los Santos Sheriff's Department recently hosted a successful walk-in recruitment event, marking our first-ever of its kind. Despite the uncertainties and challenges, RED Command and the recruitment staff excelled, extending employment offers to numerous individuals. The initial group of 14 participants is now progressing through an academy and heading to our field training program.
As the Commander of the Administrations Bureau, I anticipate debriefing the event with RED Command and planning for future repetitions. We are dedicated to ensuring top-notch training for those aspiring to become Deputy Sheriffs and serve our community honorably.
Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Dante Archer wrote: The RED recently organized a milestone Walk-In-Interview event, aiming for fairness and simplicity in the recruitment process. Out of 86 interested individuals, successful interviews were conducted with 28 candidates, and 15 individuals were accepted into Academy #82.
Taking all factors into consideration, despite it being our first time to host such an event, everything went smoothly. The overwhelmingly positive feedback we received from this event has motivated us to consider hosting such events more frequently in the future. We firmly believe that this event not only recruited fresh individuals into our department but also fostered a sense of unity among all current employees.
On behalf of the RED Command team, I would like to take this moment to express our gratitude to every deputy, regardless of their position, who assisted us in making this event a success. Without their invaluable help, we would not have been able to attain this level of achievement.
Assistant Commanding Officer, Captain Wiley Reno wrote:Lieutenant Archer began organizing the event in late December and proposed the idea to the RED command team shortly after my reinstatement. Although I was skeptical of the idea at first, after the results of the event it is clear that anything is possible with the immense skill and experience of the RED team.
Much could have gone wrong in the event, and many curveballs were sent our way, but the event's silver lining was its staffing. RED Command worked to get a pool of field staff in attendance working the event in the days approaching its commencement. These capable field staff members, although unable to relieve the interview workload, ensured that the event went extremely smoothly, quickly processing applicants by eligibility, and removing disturbances from the premises when they arose.
Overall, I am immensely proud of how not only my RED staff, but the event staff as a whole conducted themselves during the event. I have no complaints and nothing but thanks for their service to the department.
RED Supervisor, Lieutenant Zero Hunter wrote: Both events were successful, showcasing positive outcomes from both the public and department members. RED Command effectively organized and publicized the event, attracting around 86 participants. With 37 passing background checks, 28 undergoing interviews, and 15 being accepted into the academy, the event proved efficient and effective. The academy, with 14 students, drew interest from non-RED department members. This overall success is credited to the collaborative efforts of everyone involved, and RED expresses intent to hold similar events in the future.
The resounding success of this event not only infused fresh talent into the LSSD but also fostered a sense of unity among current employees. As the department looks forward to replicating this achievement, individuals aspiring to embark on a career as a Deputy Sheriff are encouraged to contact the recruitment staff for detailed information on upcoming events.
