  • Citizens of San Andreas,

The San Andreas Judicial Branch is excited to announce another significant change in the regulations governing the establishment of law firms within the State of San Andreas. This change reflects our commitment to fostering a dynamic legal landscape and ensuring accessibility to legal representation for all citizens.

In September 2022, we unveiled the opening of private practice, allowing officially recognized law firms to represent clients in San Andreas courts. This marked a groundbreaking shift from the previous limitations of self-representation or reliance on public defenders. Several law firms emerged as the pioneers, meeting stringent requirements and working closely with the Supreme Court Justices to ensure a seamless implementation of private practice.

In February 2023, we responded to the growing interest in establishing small family firms or solo practices with the release of "Updated Law Firm Requirements." This allowed law firms to seek approval through the Law Firm Recognition Requests section on our public website. The San Andreas Bar Association, upon meeting specified criteria, would issue a Law Firm Approval Certificate. The subsequent application for the FSBL:05 - Law Firm license through the San Andreas State Government Business Licensing Desk paved the way for more diversity in legal representation.

Now, after careful consideration and feedback from the public, the San Andreas Judicial Branch is thrilled to announce the latest development in law firm regulations. Effective immediately, we are removing the requirement for approval from the San Andreas Bar Association to create a law firm. Instead, interested individuals can proceed to establish their law firms directly by obtaining the necessary licensing from the San Andreas State Government Business Licensing Bureau. In order to ensure that only those who are properly licensed and employed by a law firm are actively participating in our court system, we are instituting a requirement for law firms to maintain up-to-date employee records. Any individual representing a client must be listed as an employee of the respective law firm within the law firms licensing page; failure to be listed will result in disallowance from representing a client on the public docket or in the courtroom come trial.

This change aims to streamline the process for those aspiring to open a law firm and engage in legal practice within the state. By eliminating the need for additional approvals, we hope to encourage a more inclusive legal sector where individuals can readily offer legal services to the citizens of San Andreas.

The San Andreas Judicial Branch is confident that these progressive changes will not only facilitate the establishment of new law firms but also contribute to the broader goal of enhancing access to legal representation. We believe this shift will empower more individuals to participate in the legal sector, promoting a diverse and robust legal community within the state.
