SADOC Special Press Release - FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION

SADOC CERT Deployed to the City

  • In the early hours of May 3rd, 2023, tragedy struck San Andreas with the heinous murder of several Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) officers and Los Santos Sheriff's Department (LSSD) deputies in the line of duty. The SADOC Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) received a request for assistance as members of the infamous Underground gang executed several government employees in the City of Los Santos. Directly following this incident, a government employee was taken hostage by members of the Underground gang, and CERT was deployed once more. Members of the Underground gang had stolen the vehicles of the fallen officers. In conjunction with LSPD and LSSD, CERT operatives risked their lives to recover the vehicles of the fallen and apprehend the perpetrators of this tragedy.

    DOC CERT Operatives involved include:
    • Senior Operative: Sergeant Jimmithy Jemima
    • Operative: Sergeant Julia Chedhamenou
    • Operative: Sergeant Galileo Czapiewski
    • Operative: Corporal Randy Lee
    • Operative: Corporal Oliver Dutch
Statements from Sgt. Jemima and Sgt. Chedhamenou can be found below:

    Statement From Sgt. Jemima:
Senior Operative, Sergeant Jimmithy Jemima wrote: On the 3rd of May at approximately 05:45 AM The San Andreas Department of Corrections' Correctional Emergency Response Team responded to a distress call from a Sheriffs Deputy that was in need of assistance in the City as members of the Gang known as "The Underground" had Killed, executed and de-memorialize Officers of the Los Santos Police Department, the Los Santos County Sheriffs Department and Officers of the San Andreas Department of Corrections.

We got the Team into comms where we worked with members of all departments to hunt down the people who committed these violent and inhumane crimes; with out going into much detail of the Operation we apprehended 3x Suspects that were actively shooting and attempting to Kill Officers, then we assisted in tracking down Stolen LSPD and LSSD Vehicles until we were satisfied that the threat to our State was no longer active.

If it was not for the work and dedication that our Operatives, Officers of the Los Santos Police Department, Deputies of the Los Santos County Sheriffs Department, and Medics of the Los Santos Emergency Medical Services showed and executed then many more people would have died and the Criminals would have gotten away with these violent crimes.
    Statement From Sgt. Chedhamenou:
Operative, Julia Chedhamenou wrote: The third of May is obviously one of the days that will be etched in my mind forever. The whole thing started when a DOC unit went for a Burgershot meal, aiming to treat inmates at SADOC to make people happy. Unfortunately, destiny had a different plan in store, as a group of people approached the unit, holding one of them at gunpoint. A passerby called 911, informing dispatch that a correctional officer was being held at gunpoint. The rest is dark – multiple deaths, including an officer and a correctional officer. At that moment, the city thought things would calm down until we heard on the interdepartmental comms, that Great Ocean Highway was not approachable and might contain a significant shootout.

The DOC units that were at Burgershot at the time headed back to DOC, taking with them the body of their deceased colleague to perform the salute of honor for their service. Units went to tower 1 and began performing the salute by shooting dry fire shots in the air, sending the message to their fallen comrade that SADOC would never forget them. Meanwhile, as we did so, we heard on the interdepartmental comms, that more officers were found dead, and the darkness of the day grew. We performed a salute for their souls (may they rest in peace) and knew at that time that we needed to be a unified entity. So, we asked if our assistance was required, and the answer was an immediate yes.

Our CERT units got ready, and we requested the location information via interdepartmental comms, but silence was the answer. We knew at that time that our fellow officers were long gone, their spirits taken. The sadness grew, and we thought we were left alone until we heard some department calls about different dead officers, and one SD unit was alive and requesting help. We left DOC grounds with all the available CERT units to respond.

Arriving on the scene, we grouped with the SD units and searched for a tactical position while waiting for other units to join us. Once they responded, the hunt began from one place to another until we received information about their location. A stolen cruiser was spotted, and a chase started. Unified units from all departments participated in the chase that ended with a shootout in the Vespucci area. Our sole aim was to neutralize the threat, which we successfully did by neutralizing the last man standing among them.

Government property was retrieved, suspects were arrested, and the day got a bit better, but the memory of our fellow officers remains in our minds. May they rest in peace. The light that shone that day was the collaboration between departments: DOC, PD, SD, Gov, and MD – they all worked as one to make the city safe.
Police Officer III+1 Don Mozzarella and Police Sergeant I Rija Luigi of LSPD provided the following statements:
    Statement from Sgt. Luigi
    Statement from Sgt. Luigi:
Police Sergeant I Rija Luigi wrote: I was awoken by the Metro-pager and informed swiftly about multiple officers that had been murdered by a group called "the underground", as well as medics being held at knifepoint. At this point, all Departments came together, having a medevac above, CERT fighting in the front, Officers of PD and SD going hand in hand, we took it upon us to take underground down.

We took them all down together in that evening, rightfully claiming our possessions back and arresting the individuals. This whole situation was a shared effort of the Government, DOC, PD, SD and MD - A time in need where everyone came together.
    Statement from Officer Mozzarella

    Statement from Officer Mozzarella:
Police Officer III+1 Don Mozzarella wrote:With a lack of officers, the Sheriff's Department requested DOC's CERT team to assist. A few SWAT responded to a pager and joined in on the frequency and SWAT, SD, MD (Medevac and 1x ground unit assisting with med treatment), and DOC's CERT team assisted with the situation as there were very low numbers in comparison to what we were going up against. We ended up finding one of the stolen cruisers and chased it, which is when they fired shots at officers and we retaliated by taking their tires. The pursuit did not last much longer - the SED scout crashed in the Vespucci Canals where the occupants dismounted and began to flee or fire at officers.

After this, a collection point was made for the injured which is where MD assisted in treating them. I had set officers up to make cover with vehicles as they were treated, and Deputy Chief Roth was on a building providing overwatch, while MD's Medevac roamed the canals area as I directed them to give callouts for any suspicious vehicles. All three suspects were taken down and treated, taken to DOC, and processed.

CERT did excellent work overall for assisting in situations they normally don't train for, and we of course thank them greatly for their help.
LSEMS as well as two of their employees, EMT Scott Statement and EMT Dalison Statement, gave the following statements:
Statement from Los Santos Emergency Medical Services
Statement from Los Santos Emergency Medical Services
Los Santos Emergency Medical Services wrote:Within the LSEMS it is our job to save lives and be an effective piece of the city. Part of that is to follow our protocols and assist other departments that may need our assistance. On the day of the Code 1, EMT Scott and EMT Dalison were on duty and had been following the flow of this incident over the interdepartmental comms awaiting to be called in for assistance. Part of an EMTs nature is to be prepared for any uncertainties as well as what we are trained and well equipped to do. At LSEMS we are very proud of both EMTs who provided fabulous work, ethics and initiative. We are very happy that they are here gaining more and more knowledge and increasing their skill daily which has definitely come to show during this time.
    Statement from EMT Scott
    Statement from EMT Scott
EMT Scott wrote:LEOs began to inform us that the stolen cruisers where still unaccounted for as they had check both the gangs hideout and other known locations. A callout quickly came out that all the suspects were at the pier in which a pursuit quickly began. Mutiple shots fired callouts were given so me and EMT Dalison moved towards burgershot the began to stage. The chase came to a halt at the canals and there was shots fired at additional LEOs on scene. PD/SD had no available AIR units so they were thankful to have EMT Dalison up above giving updates about any none government vehicles driving up the the ongoing scene. I quickly staged down the road at burgershot awaiting the call from the LEOs of injured Officers and or 10-15s. A callout from Rija Luigi came out that there was three 10-15s injured and she wanted them treated and transported immediately. I swiftly moved down onto the scene where i was body guarded by multiple LEOs to ensure my safety while I treated. After quickly stabilizing all 10-15s we quickly convoyed them all to pillbox where they were then swiftly taken to DOC for processing. LEOs at that time had informed all that every stolen cruiser taken by the gang was recovered and the need for interdepartmental comms would no longer be needed as they were going to begin splitting units to attempt to track down the few remaining suspects. Me and EMT Dalison acknowledged their call and thanked everyone for their help and quick response as we changed back to our regular radio channel. Many department calls from other government entities thanked all for their responsibilities in helping out during the scene. Me and EMT Dalison returned to a 10-8 status stationed ourselves back at lower pillbox awaiting any further needs for assistance from previous call and all future calls.
    Statement from EMT Dalison
    Statement from EMT Dalison
EMT Dalison wrote:I arrived overhead and had a visual of the scene and what he had relayed, was correct. I had EMT Scott drop a panic and I then relayed that over interdepartmental comms to inform anyone of authority. I then instructed EMT Scott to close off both sides of the road, closing it off completely, so that any responding LEOs would have the scene control already waiting for them.

LEOs arrived but I noticed a large movement from the north of vehicles headed towards them. I informed EMT Scott and he warned the LEO. The movement from the north passed through the blockades with their bikes and others went in on foot. They surrounded EMT Scott and the LEO. I immediately relayed the situation over interdepartmental comms and consistently relayed live updates as they happened. They took the LEO hostage and let EMT Scott go. Once he left, I kept an eye on the LEO and the situation. EMT Scott moved to a safe location across the waterway and waited in his vehicle for additional LEOs to arrive. I relayed to the interdepartmental comms that they had the LEO hostage and were heavily armed with numbers in the double digits and referenced EMT Scott's panic call to lead any responding LEO's to Scott's location and safely away from that large gathering of armed individuals. Scott would then inform the responding officers of the situation and what he saw as well as keep me updated with any plans law enforcement had.

There was a brief quiet of the storm while the LEOs gathered their forces, so EMT Scott and I decided to collect the KIA LEO's bodies and safely transport them to Pillbox where they would be safe.

Once enough LEOs had gathered, the interdepartmental comms call was made and EMT Scott and I attended. I still remained as air support/command for LSEMS as well as provided additional eyes in the sky for PD/SD/DOC as they only had one AIR unit available and couldn't watch every side. I had EMT Scott stage outside of the Canals while he waited for an escort from an officer while I kept at a higher altitude and provided overwatch of the roads bordering the canals. Making LEOs aware of any suspicious movements that could possibly endanger them as well as EMT Scott.

Once all caught 10-15s were transported safely to Pillbox, I kept my visual on the area surrounding the LEOs to make sure there wasn't anything, or anyone, gathering to possibly intercept their transport. Once they were able to transport the 15s, I landed back at Pillbox and made my way to an ambulance to resume duty.
Finally Sheriffs Deput II Trixie Bankshot-Vane, who was instrumental in this operation, made the following statement:

I would first like to say that this statement is from me as an individual and does not represent the Sheriff's Department in any way!
While involving other departments is certainly unorthodox, desperate times required desperate measures. The wonderful corrections officers heard that someone needed help when no-one else was available, and they rose to the occasion without hesitation. Their involvement, alongside Goverment and MD, tipped the scales in our favor against a real threat to the safety of our fair city. Without them, I doubt we would have succeeded. I am proud to know them and proud to know they will always have my back, as well as the city's.

"Courage [is] not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." -Nelson Mandela.

I wanted to thank them for giving me courage.

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
    Trixie Bankshot-Vane.
