Why should we accept you for that position?: I understand that my discharge was because of actions and words that I have done. I understand that it was childish and it immature of me to make the comments that I did and the actions that I did. I have had 4 weeks to completely understand what I did and I acknowledge that I was completely in the wrong and I have learned how to properly talk to my higher-ups and my overall work ethic has improved since my employment with DOC. MD has taught me a lot about how important it is to have a good work environment. I apologize to anyone and everyone that I could have hurt with my actions and I would like to rebuild those connections. I was a CO 1 when I got discharged so being a CO 1 again would be very enjoyable but I do understand because of my previous actions if I was offered COT instead.
Why did your employment with the San Andreas Department of Corrections end? I was discharged for "poor behavior on shift and insubordination" I overstepped and was thinking responsibly when it came to my peers. I thought I knew what other divisions were supposed to do when I dont. I poorly followed the chain of command procedure in cases where it was needed and disrespected my higher-ups via email. I take 100% of the blame for my actions and I apologize for how I acted in the past. Working at LSEMS has really helped me grow as a better person, learning how to speak to higher-ups correctly and knowing how to let the pros handle their own duties as they know more than me in certain areas. I want to continue to learn and improve in areas that I am weak in as well as rebuild the trust and connections I lost with peers because of my poor behavior in my last employment with SADOC.
