  • On Thursday, 30th of March 2023, Police Officer III+1 Sebastian Papadakis formally handled in his resignation to the Los Santos Police Department, citing personal reasons for doing so. While the nature of the job means that inevitably, people will come and go quite frequently, from time to time there are departures of those individuals who have had long careers with the Department and such is the case for Officer Papadakis.

Sebastian applied for employment with us in October of 2019 and in his application, he spoke of possessing the valuable skill of integrity. Speaking as the Commanding Officer of the Bureau that covers Recruitment & Employment for the LSPD, we're used to applicants occasionally overly exaggerating their virtues but in Sebastian's case, over the past three and a half years, he has carried himself with the upmost integrity.

That is not to say that he has not made mistakes during his career, he has, but in the face of that self-imposed adversity, Officer Papadakis was resolute in his approach not just to policing but also how he chose to live his life. He did not sulk, he did not point the finger or assign blame but took on board the feedback and tried to better himself every day.

Officer Papadakis completed the Field Training Program in November 2019, conducting his Evaluative Patrol with his future METRO Commanding Officer, Police Commander Victor Einhart. In that Evaluative Session, Commander Einhart remarked that Officer Papadakis "was friendly and helpful during the session, keeping a professional demeanor when interacting with the public and he remained patient throughout.". Officer Papadakis was my assigned cadet, as I was a Field Training Supervisor at that time and I had the honour of making the decision to allow him to begin his Police Career.

By late December, Officer Papadakis was already a Police Officer II and he followed that up three months later with a promotion to Police Officer III in March 2020. He departed the Department for a period in 2020 but returned later that summer and continued where he had left off that Spring. For the next two years, Officer Papadakis was a solid Police Officer and in early February of 2022, he was reward by the Command of the Metropolitan Division with a promotion to Police Officer III+1, taking on the role of 20-David Element Leader. During this period, he also received the Special Weapons & Tactics Commendation Ribbon which is bestowed upon those who show continuous commitment to S.W.A.T. over prolonged periods of time and showed great effort towards the unit and achieved the position of Senior SWAT Officer.

He spent a lot of his time as a part of the Metropolitan Division and served that division and the Department as a whole with that integrity that he spoke about possessing all those years ago. Any one that has had the pleasure of serving with Sebastian knows that as good of a cop he is, he is an even better man and it is because of this that we take this opportunity to honour him.

On behalf of the department, I'd like to take this opportunity Police Officer III+1 Sebastian Papadakis, to thank you for your service and recognise you for your efforts over the past three and a half years.
