DRUNK DRIVING: IT'S NOT WORTH IT

Drunk driving is a serious problem for everyone in the world - and with this release, we hope to raise awareness of the issue across the State. Every day, innocent people are injured or killed in crashes caused by drunk drivers. This is a completely preventable tragedy, yet far too many people continue to get behind the wheel after drinking. Law enforcement is working hard to crack down on drunk driving, but we all need to do our part to stop, and even prevent this from happening. If you’re going to drink, don’t get behind the wheel. Plan ahead and designate a sober driver.

You’ll thank yourself — and your loved ones — later.

    THE DANGERS: AVOID IT

It is never worth it to drink and drive. Not only are you putting yourself at risk but you are also endangering the lives of others. If you have been drinking, even a small amount, it is important to rethink getting behind the wheel.

The recommended drink-drive limit for most countries is four units for men, which is approximately two pints of normal-strength beer. For women, it is three units, which is just over a pint or a large glass of regular-strength wine. Your blood-alcohol level (BAC) should not be over 0.08% as it is the limit in the State of San Andreas. However, even small amounts of alcohol can impair someone's ability to drive, and it is, therefore, advisable to avoid drinking any alcohol if you are going to be driving.

    CONSEQUENCES: LUCKY TO SURVIVE

Not everyone that is in a car crash dies from it. Some people are lucky enough to survive, but they have to live with injuries and negative consequences cause by the crash, including but not limited to, physical injuries, emotional trauma, and financial problems. For example, a person who is in a car crash caused by a drunk driver may suffer from permanent physical injuries such as paralysis.

They may also have to deal with emotional trauma such as anxiety and depression, and, finally, they may have to deal with financial problems such as medical bills and lost wages.

If someone is caught driving drunk, they will face jail time and fines. Jail time for drunk driving varies depending on the severity of the offense, but some consequences do not come in form of jail time and fines sadly, and more often than not, innocent people get hurt or gravely injured as a result of drunk, impaired, or distracted driving.
