San Andreas Judicial Branch Notification of Counsel Required for Bench Trails "EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER LAW" |

- Citizens of San Andreas,
The San Andreas Judicial Branch announces an update to procedural requirements regarding bench trials, effective immediately.
Previously, parties serving as counsel in a bench trial were not required to formally notify the Court of their intention to represent through a Notification of Counsel. While this allowed for flexibility, it has, at times, created avoidable delays and uncertainty in court proceedings.
Moving forward, all parties intending to participate in a bench trial will be required to notify the Court of their representation. This includes both prosecution and defense, whether private or public. This change is intended to promote transparency, preparedness, and efficiency for all involved.
Please note, this requirement does not prevent individuals from filling in or showing up the day of trial to represent their respective party. Any such deviation from the set standard will be evaluated by the presiding judge on the date of trial, and is subject to denial or acceptance based on their determination.
Please find the link to the Notification of Counsel here. Any individual intending to represent a party in any capacity must complete the form and submit it to the docket accordingly.
Please refer any questions to SAJB - Public Inquiries.
