Los Santos Police Department
Los Santos, San Andreas

Los Santos: The Los Santos Police Department's Firearms Licensing Division works to ensure individuals can be issued a legal firearms license. Part of the day to day operations for the division's command members is making sure the regulations are accurate and make sense. Recently, discussions were had in regards to individuals with Shotgun Licenses, more specifically where these types of firearms would be securely stored.
The previous regulation stated "Shotguns should be stored inside a locked safe within a permanent residence when not in use." This sentence left a gray area in regards to the "permanent residence," as individuals could live at a friend's house and still qualify for the license. After internal discussions and collaboration with the Office of the Governor, the Firearms Licensing Division has updated the Shotgun License regulation to the following:
From now on, those who seek to apply for a Shotgun License and those who already own one, must store their Shotgun inside a locked safe within a permanent residence which is solely owned by the license holder. No longer may individuals store them in friend's houses they claim to reside in, the residence listen on the application must be owned by them, with no shared ownership. Safety is the primary goal of the Firearms Licensing Division and with these changes, this should hopefully help to further decrease the possibility of individuals who do not posses a firearms license, being able to access legal firearms.
If you have any questions involving these changes or how it may affect your active Shotgun License, please reach out to FLD Command.

When not in use, shotguns should be stored inside a locked safe within a permanent residence, solely owned by the license holder. In the case of apartments however, it is essential to securely store the shotgun within a gun safe placed inside your vehicle, which should be parked in the garage of the apartment complex.
This disqualifies those who live out of RVs.
