  • Los Santos County: On October 26, 2020, around 2:00 p.m., a deputy from the South Patrol Area was flagged down by an unstable individual requesting deputies help. As our duty to the community, the deputy got out of his vehicle and started gathering information on how to help the individual. Moments later the individual successfully disarmed the deputy after a scuffle and took him hostage, he then forced the deputy in the back of the Sheriff's cruiser and took his radio.

The individual started talking over the radio, which is when other deputies on-duty noticed something is wrong. Responding deputies found the cruiser, which sped up after a vehicle stop was initiated by lights and sirens. A Joint Tactical Channel was established between the Los Santos Sheriff's Department and the Los Santos Police Department. Being a high-risk situation, Special Weapons and Tactics teams from both departments were also deployed to bring the deputy home safe.

After a fairly long chase, the pursuit was eliminated by the Los Santos Sheriff's Department Special Weapons team by their outstanding tactics and the individual surrendered himself to the operators. Deputy was treated on scene by the Medical Department and resumed back on duty. The individual however was taken into custody for several charges against a Government Employee.
