Each month, one officer is selected by our Police Supervisors to receive this most prestigious award. This award is an overall congratulation for universal commitment, achievement, and excellence throughout the department. An officer who achieves this award is an exemplary member of the department who should be looked up to as an inspiration and role-model.

FEATURED DIVISION
- The Gang and Narcotics Division is a specialized division within the Detective Bureau and is responsible for disrupting, suppressing, and apprehending violent street gangs and the means by which they support their lifestyle within the state of San Andreas. The Gang and Narcotics Division houses the Gang Field Unit, which is responsible for conducting surveillance of organizations or persons of interest as per the direction of the Officer-in-Charge. Police Captain II Lex Roth is the Commander of this Division working side by side with his Assistant Commander Captain Police Captain I Jason Steel.
These goals are achieved through surveillance, documentation, and apprehension of the gangs' affiliates. The division and detectives within maintain strong relationships with the Commissioner's Office, the Office of the Chief, and the Metropolitan Division in order to seek, approve and ultimately employ premier solutions against its targets.
One of the two main components under the Gang and Narcotics Division is the Gang Field Unit (GFU). The GFU was created and assembled by Police Captain Jason Steel on November 9th, 2020. Since then, members of this specialized unit are composed of officers, working in the field. They have played a big role in elimination or weakening some of the most violent and hazardous criminal organizations Los Santos have ever experienced.
Police Captain Lex Roth wrote:Gangs have been a major contributor to the growth of violent crime in the past years. Heavily armed with sophisticated weapons, gangs are involved in drug trafficking, murder, witness intimidation, robbery, extortion, and turf battles. Gangs now operate in cities of all sizes, as well as suburban communities throughout the San Andreas; gang violence no longer is limited to major cities.
The Gang and Narcotics Division and the Detective Bureau, will not tolerate any illegal activities in Los Santos and the County. Our units will always be one step ahead of everyone who wishes to jeopardize public safety through illegal operations. The Gang and Narcotics Division will continue suppressing the criminal organizations and their activity. Multijurisdictional efforts range from our special units dedicated to investigating and prosecuting gang-related crimes to state-of-the-art surveillance equipment and sophisticated data collection and analysis technologies
To be part of the Gang Field Unit, a branch under the Gang and Narcotics Division, LSPD members must have achieved the rank of Police Officer II or higher and are kept to the highest internal and external standards. This means all officers in this division have a firm understanding of the Penal Code and how it applies in the field, department regulations, especially those relating to arrest and searches, and show a sincere and resolute desire to impair gang activity within the city, without second thought or hesitation while filling optional paperwork after every major scene, detailing gang activity and affiliation. Recruitment into this unit is a rigorous process with the utmost detail of the every officer and their background screened before they are accepted into a training program.
Also under the Gang and Narcotics Division is the Detective Branch. They identify as a separate entity, composed of members of the LSPD whom have achieved the rank of Detective I or higher. While in the same division as the Gang Field Unit the detective's role is specialized in a way to provide another level of experience and means of Gang suppression while working with other Divisions to gather intelligence and coordinate operations. The detectives employ different methods of documentation, surveillance and other techniques that may not be available to the GFU officers while keeping close track of cases related to gang activity. Operating together under the GND both the GFU and Detective Branch work hand in hand to delve into and disrupt the heart of gang activity and operations in Los Santos.
FEATURED EMPLOYEE
- Police Sergeant I Steve Martinez grew up in a rural part of Iran, where he spent all of his childhood. When reaching the age of 18 and ready to start picking out a university, Sergeant Martinez chose to attend Florida State University, majoring in criminal justice. This meant leaving his family behind in Iran and starting a new chapter in his life abroad. Within four years of studying at university, Officer Martinez graduated from university and decided to move to Los Santos.
Upon arriving in Los Santos, Sergeant Martinez did not join the Los Santos Police Department straight away. For the first few months, he contemplated becoming a lawyer in Los Santos. To pay the bills, Sergeant Martinez started with a job at Downtown Cab Company, quickly ascending the ranks. Additionally, Sergeant Martinez worked at the Los Santos Emergency Medical Services and the Department of Corrections, where his career flourished similarly. Nevertheless, being brought up in a law enforcement family, he felt it had always been in his blood to do something similar. According to Officer Martinez himself, it has been the best decision he has ever made.
Nearly two years ago, on the first of July 2019, Sergeant Martinez joined the Los Santos Police Department as a Police Cadet. As per his own standard, Sergeant Martinez rose through the ranks at the Los Santos Police Department swiftly, eventually making it up to the rank of Police Detective II, a supervisory position within the Los Santos Police Department. As a Detective, Sergeant Martinez was part of many investigations and operations that fill him with pride to this date. With his aid, the Detective Bureau managed to confiscate an extreme amount of, narcotics, weapons, modifications, and other illegal items, which Sergeant Martinez considers his biggest achievement in his professional career thus far.
-Police Sergant I Steve Martinez wrote: Being a Police Officer is the best thing that has happened in my life. It shifted my life towards my originals goals and I'm very proud of joining the Department. As a Police Officer, you are always at the center of getting hated by some people but all you need to do is to remain professional and keep doing your best because deep down, you know your own intentions which is nothing other than enforcing the law and saving lives. In the end, we're all on your side and trying to make Los Santos a safer city for all of us.
Currently, Sergeant Martinez maintains a supervisory position within the Vespucci Patrol Division. Aside from that, he additionally spends his time on shift conducting duties for both the Media Relations Division, where he is a Media Relations Officer, as well as the Field Training Division, where he is a devoted Field Training Officer, trying to get the absolute best out of Police Cadets every single day.
In relation to his future in the Los Santos Police Department, Sergeant Martinez is working hard to make a promotion back into a divisional Supervisory position, as well as making progress within the General Operations Bureau and the Media Relations Division. Sergeant Martinez joined the latter division recently and has already made huge steps to succeeding in his goal. Later on in his career, Sergeant Martinez hopes to be accepted into various other divisions, broadening his areas of expertise within the Los Santos Police Department. We would like to thank Sergeant Martinez for his time and to wish him the best in his career, whatever it may bring him.
FEATURED INCIDENT
- For the first time since its original formation, the Community Relations Unit of the Los Santos Police Department organised its first event on Friday the 6th of August, 2021 at the Pacific Bluffs. The night was open for all members of the public of the State of San Andreas, of which quite a number of people attended: the official counter stood at no more than seventy-fout! The main reason of organising this event was an outdoor community gathering meant to strengthen bonds within the community. Additionally, this was the first time the Community Relations Unit was introduced for the wide public. -
-
- The night knew various events and entertainment to provide for plenty of laughter and joy to further strengthen the bond between civilians and the police. First of all, there was a "dunk the officer" where civilians could throw a ball at a board and, if hit, an officer would fall into the pool. Secondly, there was a public vehicle raffle for a fully maxed Cypher, which was won by Otmaan Dickson. Not only could the attending civilians enjoy popular tunes by DJ Asbjorn Schmidt, Raven Deliveries managed quality snacks and drinks to enjoy which both the attending officers as well as civilians could properly use after a few exhilarating foot races under the sunset.
-
- During the event there was a possibility for civilians to attend certain "Meet & Greets" from various government-related agencies. Representatives from Bayview, Los Santos County Sheriff's Department, Los Santos Police Department and Los Santos Customs all attended the event to talk to all attending civilians and give them the opportunity to ask them anything they had wanted to know ever since. The dunk an officer and relay racing activities worked to provide a humorous and fun bonding activity between both. The event gave our community a chance to see the more relaxed and laid back side of the local law enforcement and hopefully the beginning of a more understanding and better relationship of trust and respect for each other.
The event was spearheaded by Police Captain I Grace Hunter who had the following to say about the event:
Police Captain I Grace Hunter wrote: The event itself was designed and intended to have the community interact, get to know and build a trust with the local law enforcement, outside of the usual high stress and serious scenes they see us on. The dunk an officer and relay racing activities worked to provide a humorous and fun bonding activity between both. The event gave our community a chance to see the more relaxed and laid back side of the local law enforcement and hopefully the beginning of a more understanding and better relationship of trust and respect for each other.
- The final activity of the event night was spinning the raffle wheel. In total, the raffle had an outstanding total of 422 entries, 47 individual entries which would make one winner. A big spin on the wheel crowner the winner of the brand new Cypher. The lucky winner? Otmaan Dickson! After this, the attending citizens had the time to enjoy some more summer songs and cold drinks before the night was concluded.
Last but not least, we would like to take the time to thank all the attending civilians of the State of San Andreas to make this event an unprecedented success. We hope everyone enjoyed their time on the beaches of Pacific Bluffs - see you at the next one!
