WWW.LSPD.SAGOV.US Los Santos Police Department Press Release Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 "TO PROTECT AND SERVE" |
MONTHLY BULLETIN 2010
- During the past month, a major change has been implemented reformating Special Weapons & Tactics into the Metropolitan Division. Commanded by Lieutenant Einhart and Sergeant Church who previously commanded Special Weapons & Tactics, this division integrates the framework of Special Weapons & Tactics and adds the Tactical Support Team with the aim of increasing the division's mobility.
As the department shifts its focus from being reactive to proactive against gang violence, the new expanded Metropolitan Division is an important tool. The change allows members of the division to focus on tactical training rather than field training, and shift their focus to the division. LSPD Metro will now respond to tactical situations in less time and with greater preparedness than ever before. More changes are planned for the future and will be implemented gradually.
Metro will work closely with the Investigations Bureau to protect their work against gangs in the city, and will be trained to safeguard Police Detectives in carrying out their operations. With gangs a constant threat to the lives of regular civilians, tactical support will provide the security and confidence needed to drive the Department's push against organized crime.
Officer of the Month
- -
Each month, one officer is selected by our Police Supervisors to receive this most prestigious award. This award is an overall congratulation for universal commitment, achievement, and excellence throughout the department. An officer who achieves this award is an exemplary member of the department who should be looked up to as an inspiration and role-model.
-
Police Officer III Roberto Tortuga is a veteran of the department, first joining it in November 2018 before leaving and re-joining less than four months ago. Since his reinstatement Officer Tortuga has showcased exemplary work ethic in diverse fields. It is a common for his colleagues to sight the shadow of his mighty helicopter, as he provides close air support to them during situations requiring it.
In addition to close air support, Tortuga habitually carries an extra donut for any hungry co-worker and will routinely offer them during lunch breaks. In regards to his attitude, the winning officer is extremely pleasant and has never had any disputes with co-workers or members of the public, truly being a role model in regards to professional standards. These combined traits of Officer Tortuga have been a very common appearance, as for the past month, he has achieved a very impressive average of forty five hours each week.
