This Saturday, the 21[sup]st[/sup] of March, 2020, the Los Santos Police Department Investigation Bureau's Detectives detained, questioned, and arrested Leon Sonne for multiple counts of Fraud, Forgery, Grand Theft, and Obstruction of Justice following multiple investigation cases filed against him. You may know Leon Sonne as Kyle Onfroy, Ayato Kazaka, Steven Stryker, Kyle Stryker, or Elijah Wilson - all previous names of his - but no matter which, you probably don't remember him for good reasons. He is the most prolific scammer in the history of the Investigations Bureau, having committed more than five (5) high profile acts of fraud (each with 6-digit valuations) over the past few months.

An undercover investigation revealed the location of Leon Sonne, and multiple undercover Officers moved in to find him held at gunpoint by a few unknown individuals. The Officers intervened in the situation and the person of interest was successfully taken into custody for questioning regarding these cases. Leon Sonne was informed of the reasoning behind his detainment, but continued to insist on his innocence in spite of the plethora of evidence against him. He was brought to an interrogation room where Detectives from several divisions of the Investigations Bureau carried out extensive questioning, and after weeks of failing to comply with the investigations, the suspect continued to lie to the Detectives, going further into absurdity every time they challenged his terrible excuses and cover stories.

After the evidence was presented to Leon Sonne, the main aim of the questioning was to seize the illegitimately gained funds. Inevitably, the suspect eventually caved to the bulletproof evidence against him and decided to cooperate with the investigation. He agreed to return the money he owed in order to clear all investigations against him, and was promptly transported to the bank in the back of an armored transporter. Here, he was escorted inside, where he withdrew the funds and handed them over in defeat to a Detective for all to see.

In total, $1,380,000 was handed over to the Los Santos Police Department Investigations Bureau, all of which will be returned as soon as possible to the defrauded victims of these heinous scams - ranging from new immigrants to the city to law enforcement, mechanics and news reporters. Leon Sonne was convicted on four (4) counts of Fraud and Forgery, as well as one (1) count each of Grand Theft, Obstruction of Justice, and Attempted Sales Tax Evasion. Together with other charges related to his fruitless attempts to escape prosecution, he was sentenced to 512 months (42 years and 8 months) in State Penitentiary. He also received additional fines totaling $44,000 for his crimes. Beyond the return of a significant sum of money to the citizens of Los Santos, we are proud to be able to say that the city will be safe from his classless acts for a long time, and we have only our world-class Detectives to thank for that.

To the Citizens of Los Santos, let this serve as a warning. Too many people have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars to scams already, don't allow others to profit from your misery. Always use official services and lots when dealing with valuable property such as homes and vehicles; there are city-sponsored vehicle lots both in Vespucci Beach by the Del Perro Pier, and in Paleto Bay on the main road, and enough realtors available for every home.

An important thing to note is that at $10,000, Sales Tax Evasion carries the heftiest fine of all the charges Leon Sonne received. Sales Tax Evasion is a misdemeanor recently added to the penal code in part to fight cases like these and discourage private sales which scams are all too often prevalent. Now is a great time to learn from others' mistakes and educate yourself on this new law below: And to anyone thinking of following in this low and disgraceful path, let this show that it is not worth it; you will be found, charged and you will lose more than you could possibly gain, for you cannot outrun the Law.
