PRESS RELEASE: Failed kidnapping of the Sheriff and his Trainee

This January saw another prosperous success for the Los Santos Police Department and the Los Santos Sheriffs Department, in the war against gangs and crime. Earlier this month there was a large incident involving both departments and multiple gang affiliated individuals. Gang war and crime has seen an increase over the past few months with cartels and criminal organisations finding new and unfortunately intelligent ways to go undetected.

Los Santos as beautiful as it is, can be tarnished when the criminal gangs decide that war is the only answer to those that cross them. We have seen multiple smaller groups wiped out and any remaining members fleeing the city. Be it assassinations or large deadly pursuits, these notorious criminals will stop at nothing to achieve their goals and it's safe to say they don't seem to have any conscience holding them back.

Law Enforcement do not appear to be a threat to these individuals when they feel you have crossed them. They get a sense of gang pride and a veil of invincibility seems to come over them. However, unlike local gangs the law enforcement departments have more resources and training provided to deal with these scenarios. This is unfortunate for the criminals as lives do end up being lost in the crossfire of protecting the city and rarely do they succeed when they challenge us.

This month Sheriff John Wallace and his trainee Deputy Nishant Albright were patrolling the county. During their patrol they encountered a member of the well known gang "Triads". Unfortunately this interaction resulted in the kidnapping of the Sheriff and his Trainee. Another bold move by gangs. It's not apparent what the intentions behind the kidnapping were but its safe to say the outcome isn't what they wanted.

The Los Santos Police department was alerted to the kidnapping by the Los Santos Sheriffs Department and they joined forces. Deploying both SED and SWAT to assist to the code 1 situation. After roughly 15 minutes both were recovered unharmed. The suspect, "Lucy McMahon" a fiery red-headed female from "Triads" with an attitude to match, was identified as one of the kidnapping party. A pursuit of the suspect began and after a further 15 minutes she crashed her Komacho and was was captured and arrested. She was escorted to a cruiser and taken from the scene for transportation.

Shortly after her departure from the scene, twenty plus gang members, who must not have gotten the memo, showed up to the situation. They cornered Officer Noonham. We can only assume they were either trying to free Ms McMahon or take revenge for her capture. Either way it didn't end well for them with SWAT operatives Stryker and Sloan bravely neutralising the threat. The officer was saved and unharmed. Following this the gangs in a rage initiated a large firefight with many heavy weapons and artillery. Both law enforcement's saw the loss of some officers that day. The officers that died will always be remembered and because of their bravery ten plus gang members were KIA along with a further seven arrested. Another success for the right side of the law, showing crime does not pay. Both departments would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends, not only of the officers lost that day but also to those of the suspects, lives are lives and all of them matter!

After the scene was secured, The Los Santos Emergency Medical Services were called to assist any injured. They arrived and in the typical professional manner we are always graced with saved those that could be. The remaining suspects were all treated and processed and brought to the Department of Corrections without any further incidents.

We are please to release that the streets are that much cleaner. Evidence recovered saw nine pistol.50's, one combat pistol and two heavy pistols, all illegally obtained. As well as that we saw two illegal SMG and one Assault Rifle taken into evidence. This should be a lesson to the gangs of Los Santos, as hard as you try the Law will always come out top. Hopefully lessons were learned that day.
