In the last week after Christmas and coming up to the New Year, there has been an unfortunate sporadic increase in crime. This is to be expected as there is often an average 20% increase in crime around the holiday period. The holidays usually bring people together for big meals, drinks, celebrations and shopping sprees. However crime doesn't sleep and criminal activities also spike.

Last week the Los Santos Police Department and the Los Santos Sheriffs Department came together on big case. The combined efforts of both departments saw justice being served for one of the city's notorious gang affiliated criminals. Both departments worked tirelessly together to bring this individual down.

The suspect, one young male known as Cole Fegan, caught the attention of the departments in a style that is consistent with his known associates. A high speed chase. Whilst trying to perform a traffic stop on Mr Fegan, he did as many guilty suspects do and took off at a reckless speed from law enforcement. This led to a very lengthy pursuit as Mr Fegan is unfortunately a talented driver. However his driving skills are no match for the LSPD and LSSD's tactical communications, high speed units and our air force.

Using High Speed Units and X-Ray Units to keep vision on Mr Fegan, he was eventually caught and surrounded outside of the Los Santos downtown parking lot. Multiple units were on scene to approach Mr Fegan as he is known to associate with the ex-cartel gang known as "Los Zeta's". This gang has a history of violence and heavy weaponry which leaves no room for mistakes when trying to apprehend a suspect affiliated with the dangerous gang.

Mr Fegan, was apprehended and arrested quickly and safely by our well trained officers, including help and protectinon from LSPD's SWAT team and LSSD's SED unit. It was important that the detainment and securing of Mr Fegan was carried out efficiently but quickly as Los Zetas are known to try to free their members, by any means necessary. He was transported by convoy of specialists, sheriffs and officers to Bolingbroke Penitentiary, in Blaine County. The Department of Corrections facilitated the arrival of this High Value Target. Once he was safely inside the gates and secure, the Los Santos Police Department and the Los Santos Sheriffs Department gathered to secure the perimeter, until the charges had been places and the suspect imprisoned.

Mr. Fegan was charged with multiple counts of murder on LEO's, along with possession of weapon modifications and illegal firearms/weapons. We recovered a Pistol 50 with 2 clips and 2 silencers, a scope, a knife and one MicroSMG through the successful operation that lead to this man being brought to justice.

This is a huge win for both departments in the war against crime in Los Santos. Since the creation of the Los Santos Sheriffs department earlier this year, and the team work between both LSPD and LSSD, this is just one of many victories that we have shared. Both departments are skilled and working together only improves our ability to bring justice to those who have been hurt by the criminals in Los Santos.

Los Santos Police Department, Media Relations Division aims to provide a fair and unbiased side to all press releases provided to the city. So in the tradition of everyone having their voice, we contacted Mr Fegan to get a statement from him. Unfortunately due to the threat and violence of what Mr Fegan said we cannot directly quote his words. To summarise in a PG-13 sense, he did not show any remorse for what he had done and gave the impression that he had not learnt his lesson. There is the possibility that if given the chance Mr Fegan would attempt to commit more acts of violence. We will be keeping an eye on Mr Fegan and his associates in order to keep all the wonderful citizens of Los Santos safe.

If you feel that you have been affected by any of the crime or gang activity in the city, please reach out to our Crime Report Units and report anything that has happened to you. CRU can be contacted by submitting a Crime Report here and one of our investigators will do their best to bring you justice!
