OFFICER OF THE MONTH, OCTOBER 2019
-
Each month, ONE officer is selected by our Police Supervisors to receive this most prestigious award. This award is an overall congratulation for universal commitment, achievement, and excellence throughout the department. An officer who achieves the 'Officer of the Month' award is an exemplary member of the department and someone who should be looked up to as an inspiration and role-model.
-
This month, we would like to recognize the astonishing work effort, dedication, and passion that Police Officer II Carl Thisthon has shown. In the month of October, Officer Thiston has logged approximately 312 shift hours on the field, an extraordinary number for any Officer to reach. Officer Carl Thisthon currently serves as a Patrol Officer and Field Training Officer of Vinewood Precinct, a precinct where he sets a good precedent of proper police work. In addition to this, Officer Thisthon recently became apart of our newly opened Crime Report Unit, under Office of Investigations, where Officer Thisthon is set on learning and developing investigative skills to resolve reported crime reports that come in.
Officer Thisthon graduated from the Los Santos Police Academy on August 10th, 2019 and he graduated from our Field Training Program on September 6th, 2019. Since then, Officer Thisthon has shown the ability to adapt and be a quick learner, and he has through hard work, effort, and great ambition, proved himself to be an exemplary officer.
We wish Officer Thisthon nothing but the best moving forward and hope that he will continue demonstrating the same level of effort to the Department and his work.
Officer Carl Thisthon will be rewarded with a bonus payment of $1,000.00 (( $100,000.00 )).

"TO PROTECT AND SERVE"- Division Update
Hello Pilots!
Welcome to the Fourteenth update of the Air Support Division. This month we've got a lot of movement and updates within our structure. I want to thank Sergeant Deul for really helping us out getting everything organized. We will be looking at flight hours more this coming month to help make it easier to progress and promote our pilots granting them additional permissions sooner.
With new recertification program options allowing previous pilots to fly again, we have brought back some of our pilots. Remember, If you are in SWAT as well as ASD, you are not permitted to fly for a SWAT unit until you have achieved the ASD rank of Pilot.
Congratulations to Felix Noonham as our featured Pilot for October! They have logged 26 hours with an average of 26 hours over their ASD career which only started recently. They have really taken to the skies and have been of great support to our officers on the ground.
A total of 110 hours have been logged this last month. Not as much as the previous month but still shows a good consistency in the air. Please don't forget to log those hours!

- Logan Cross

- Mike Adams
- Lieutenant Mike Adams has been appointed as the Assistant Commanding Officer of the Robbery Homicide Division.
In the month of October, a new unit was opened as part of the Investigations Bureau piloted by Detective Logan Cross.
This unit is known as the Investigation Bureau's Crime Report Unit and is a way for Police Officer II's to get a good grasp of what we do in the Investigations Bureau. The Investigations Bureau Crime Report Unit (IBCRU) consists of Police Officers who are interested in learning and developing investigative skills. A Crime Report Officer (CRO) is assigned a case file where they will work under a Police Investigator / Detective and attempt to solve reported crimes.
They will be tasked with assisting Police Investigators and Detectives in responding to as well as closing crime reports and case files. Using the information at hand they work closely with the Investigations Bureau and the general public in solving crimes that have taken place where no resolution was readily available on the scene at the time of the incident.
Upon entry into the Investigations Bureau Crime Report Unit, an Officer will become apart of the Investigations Bureau and will receive rudimentary training. This unit can be seen as a stepping stone into the Investigations Bureau, as once they reach the rank of Police Officer III it will factor into their recruitment, should they choose the Investigations Bureau as their career path in the LSPD.During the month of October:- A total of 17 cases have been opened.
- A total of 14 cases have been closed.
- A total of 11 cases are currently being actively investigated. (Excluding Gangs and Narcotics statistics)
- A combined total of 53 Investigation Patrol Logs have been posted.
- A total of 86 illegal weapons have been seized.
- 3 Investigators have passed the Detective Training Program.
On a final note, we would like to thank you all for reading through the fifteenth monthly Investigations Bureau update post. We greatly appreciate all the work every single one of you puts in every day to make the Investigations Bureau successful.
Once again, congratulations to all those who got promoted, and keep up the good work!

Los Santos Police Department1Field Training Program OctoberUpdate
Dear Field Training Officers,
The month of October has been a great month for the Field Training Program. It was the first month where we were able to fully test out our new system of 4 FTP sessions with collaboration with the Basic Training Division for their academies. Furthermore, this month saw a trial run of increasing the mandatory time between sessions from 4 days ((24 hours)) to 1 week ((48 hours)) and I can say with confidence I feel that this trial has been a massive success as less Cadets were sent backwards in the FTP to re-do specific elements and we are graduating much more competent Officers from the program. Sadly this month, the FTP command team lost Detective Quinn and the Command team have big boots to fill. This does however open up a command position within the FTP Command team and should you be interested, please email us a letter of interest (SLO/Detective 1 (supervisor) higher only).
Throughout the month of October, 54 unique FTP sessions and 32 formal observations were conducted meaning that there were over 80 formal interactions with cadets throughout October - Well done everyone!
The month of October saw us introduce 11 new Field Training Officers into the Field Training Program - Welcome all!
