Over the recent month, the violence and gang activity in the city has grown massively. From shootouts, pursuits, and raids involving heavy weaponry and massive amounts of drugs. While these events are happening more often than they used to, the department still manages to hold a large number of successes apprehending these situations.

In the last month, the department was involved in over 7 shootouts which were located at the Los Santos Pier. These shootouts, all involved heavy weaponry. Despite all odds, in all of these situations. The department managed to apprehend most of the suspects, and the ones that it did not manage to were deceased among the gun-fire. With almost no casualties from the department's side. While there are very few damages caused to the department during these situations and events, the department honors all who suffered damage due to these events. And attempts to minimize all damages during these sort of situations.

On the 22nd of February, 8 Officers were pursuing a known criminal leader from the gang known as "Vice Lords". The chase itself was a long one and took the officers all around Los Santos. It eventually reached the Los Santos Pier. There, the suspect ran into the edge of the pier. Where multiple black vehicles, the same color the organization is known for, used. The officers pulled out and barricaded the entire pier in order to force the suspect and he's co-belligerents to come outside. However, they were opened fire on from the roofs and docks around the pier. At this time, a semi-truck and 3 vehicles came from the eastern side of the pier. Ramming straight into the officer's cruisers. Luckily, all officers managed to hold their positions. And all occupants of the semi-truck and vehicles were shot in self-defense. They were all deceased shortly after. Then, 3 officers pushed into the docks of the pier, where they were greeted with heavy automatic fire. Somehow, the officers managed to even the odds by injuring over 8 suspects, who were all deceased. In the end, 3 suspects were caught. One surrendered while the 2 others received treatment from the quick response the officers on-scene received from the LSEMS.

In the end, over 17 bodies were at the scene. And only one officer was deceased. With all other officers in top condition.

A few days earlier, on the 10th of February. A similar situation took place. In which after a lengthy pursuit of S.W.A.T. and officers, they were greeted with heavy gun-fire at the pier. However, once again. The officers and S.W.A.T. operatives on the scene managed to take over the situation in an effective matter. In the end, only one officer was deceased. With over 15 suspects deceased.

"During my time with the LSPD my drive and passion has come from my hatred towards criminals, and every time we become victorious it feels like I've won a battle and the feeling is ecstatic. Whether it's an arrest from a drug deal, a vehicular pursuit, or a mass shootout, every victory is a step closer to defeating crime in this city. These days the crime is at an all-time high, with multiple gangs and organizations running in this city, all the way from the Elysian Islands to Paleto Bay, the store robberies, drug raids, and more. However, During my 16 months in the LSPD, I have never seen the department so united and in such a position to be able to tackle the crime. When we enter a situation whether we are outnumbered or not we give it our all and with the amazing work of our SWAT and Investigations teams we are able to make such great advances in taking down the criminals that we face.

The Department is now better than it ever has been, the way we are able to take down these people and put them away is organized, and it leads to a fantastic success rate. The hard work of all the men and women who have decided to risk their lives protecting this city has led up to this point and I feel honored to be a part of this team as well as help lead this department to further success. We are working hard every day to continue to improve our equipment, divisions, and strategies to be able to fight crime more and more and continue to protect and serve. Of course, we fight for those who have served and lost their lives protecting and serving in this city that we love. We wear the badge for them and we will continue to do everything we can to tackle the issues we face for them as they once did themselves."

"It prides me to see the continued efforts from all of our Police Officers to enforce the law and maintain the safety of the civilians of Los Santos with the rise of crime and gang presence in the city.

The loss of our beloved brothers and sisters in blue will not be taken lightly, and the Los Santos Police Department will stop at nothing to continue to crack down on the gang activity and (organized) crime in the city.

The Los Santos Police Department has no one to thank for its recent success but both its own Police Officers who risk their lives every day to protect all citizens of Los Santos and the continued effort of the Los Santos Emergency Medical Services' Emergency Medical Technicians, who devote their time to assisting the Police Department in the situations requiring it.

Without these people putting their lives on the line every single day, we wouldn't be where we are today - continuously improving and making the city a better place for everyone."

"In the past couple of the months, violent crime against government employees have spiked through the roof, and over and over again, the Los Santos Police Department manages to defeat and intervene all attempts at putting us down.

Looking at the example of the incident that took place on Friday, February 22nd, it proves that due to the efficient and persistent training of our officers, and their discipline and commitment to the force, that no matter the number and the cowardly attempts at hurting these fine men and women of the law, we always strike back harder -- and I can only continue emphasizing that it's due to the officer's commitment and training that we are able to win, and succeed at preserving peace and prosperity in San Andreas.

I can only thank the men and women that spend countless hours training our officers to become the best, and to train them for situations like these. Their commitment, dedication, and passion for what they do is the reason why the Police Department is successful at what we do. I also have to thank our government for the equipment they provide to the Police Department, without our equipment, we would not be as efficient as we are today.

The next required step to preserve more peace and put a stop to these cowardly groups of criminals is to introduce a more strict and punishing judicial system, we need to see these people behind bars for a VERY long time. We make progress each and every day for the better, one day the city will be completely pest free and we'll continue our lives in an even more peaceful and prosperous city."

Aside from that, criminals have shown a worrisome amount of in-fighting between one another. This, not only harms and puts the general populace of Los Santos in danger, yet also created a massive amount of casualties of both innocent and guilty people. Luckily, the department has successfully managed to track down some of this in-fighting and put it to an end. From treating injured civilians caught in the crossfire, or arrested the ones who caused the entire mess.

However, a visible rise in dangerous situations and injured officers have been seen by many, and the department respects and honors all officers who were injured or killed during active duty. It attempts to minimize this violence and attempts to do its best with making sure all who are affected by it recover.

We encourage everyone to report as many crimes as possible, that way. The LSPD can help track down and stop future crimes, or, make sure already criminals who've committed crimes in the past will be arrested and be dealt with accordingly.

To know when one commits a crime, and to generally refresh your memory about the laws within Los Santos, please read the Los Santos 2019 Panel Code

For more information, please read "Press Release - See a Crime? Report a Crime!"

If you're witnessing an on-going crime, attempt to stay as far as possible from it, especially if it is life-threatening. Call 911 and inform the dispatcher about the situations. The LSPD will respond as soon as they're available and a unit would be sent on their way to you.

It is also important to remember, that calling 911 in cases of non-emergencies. Such as help at Impound, is considered Misuse of Government Public Safety Radio Frequencies or Hotlines (Please refer to NM11 on the Los Santos City 2019 Panel Code).
