Detailed information of your request:

Hello! I am currently working on an article regarding hunting and the legalities surrounding the activity. I looked through the State of San Andreas Penal Code and the only item I found that pertained to hunting was GM16 - Animal Cruelty, which only states that animal cruelty does not apply to the legal hunting of wild game animals. Currently, is there any procedure for citizens to obtain a hunting license, or is hunting unregulated at this time?

Thank you for your time!

Warmest Regards,

Molly Devil

As far as I am aware there is no hunting license, so it would be unregulated in that sense of the word. However, such regulations are not the business of the LSPD but rather City Hall, so you may be interested in reaching out to them. Additionally, I checked with the Firearms & Licensing Division, and they confirmed that hunting is considered a shooting sport which means it is legal to hunt using a legal pistol.

I would however mention that while there may not be laws in the penal code specifically regulating hunting, there are some things to consider when hunting such that you do not get into trouble with other laws in the penal code. For example, if you do hunt using a firearm, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are not shooting near populated areas or trails; failure to do so would be considered Felony Public Endangerment. Should an accident occur where a person is injured due to your participation in hunting activities that would be Assault with a Deadly Weapon, should they die as a result that would be involuntary manslaughter. Hunting is also not an excuse to possess an illegal item, such as an unlicensed or illegal weapon or accessory, knife longer than three inches, etc, and it does not give you permission to violate any requirements of your Parole. Finally, it could be argued that Animal Cruelty can occur during hunting, for example if the hunter does not finish off the animal properly or kills it in a purposefully torturous way.

I hope this information is useful to you.
