Request Information
Detailed information of your request:

Hello! Thank you to whoever is taking this request. I just had some questions about a recent event that PD held off-duty at Cayo Perico.

1.) What safety precautions were taken for those who got injured on the remote island?
2.) How long did the event last?
3.) Finally, where does the funding for these events come from? Is it paid for by the government/citizen taxes?

I just want to be clear, I'm not intending this to be a bold expose or anything, just a pure fluff piece about LSPD to break up all the crime in our upcoming paper.

  • Icarus_Olsen,

    Thank you for contacting us.
    1) Medical personnel were present at the event with a MEDEVAC available, having arrived by helicopter.

    2) The event itself lasted about 2 hours, not including transportation.

    3) Since you are asking in general:
Sometimes, funding is provided by generous donations from certain members of the Department. Other times, prior to an event, Commissioners will approve a budget.

During an event, we will have a fundraiser to recover as much of the budget as possible, for example by a sponsored raffle. In this event, the funds raised by the raffle more than covered the budget that was granted. Remaining money is kept to pay for future events.

I hope this answers your questions.

  • Sincerely,

    Police Sergeant II Jonathan Norton
