We put yet another month behind us as we move into July - with that, we'd like to remind everyone to stay hydrated as the expected heatwaves from the beginning of the summer has hit us like a truck.
The month of June in the Los Santos Police Department has been relatively slow in terms of innovations, but operations have been moving as smooth as always. Our offices and divisions are continuing their excellence, we continue to see great interest in our Recruitment and Employment Program and efficient and smooth training of new officers by our Basic Training Division and Field Training Program.
I'd like to recognize and congratulate Lieutenant Mike Adams on his promotion into Los Santos Police Command. Lieutenant Adams joined the force on May 15th, 2018, and through hard work and dedication, we saw him rise through the ranks of the Department until he finally settled in as a Detective on September 7th, 2018. We are grateful to have experienced minds such as Lieutenant Mike Adams, join us in the ranks of Police Command and help us push the department towards the future.
For the month of July, we have no major changes planned for the department internally, however, due to the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department coming close to opening its doors, employees of the Los Santos Police Department can expect some minor changes to procedures and protocols.
For those interested in becoming a Police Officer of the Los Santos Police Department, we currently have a recruitment drive on-going with limited vacancies, so make sure that you get your application submitted and hope for the best!
Chief of Police Samuel Osborn

- Police Officer II Jimmy Jonway was born in Manchester, the UK where he lived with his three siblings and parents until the age of 12 when he was put into care. His foster family were very caring and pushed Jimmy towards academic success although his college tutors described him as an underachiever. This didn't stop Jimmy from his aspirations to follow the American dream, however. At the age of 19, he had saved enough from his job as a kitchen porter to fund a one way trip to the United States. Being young and adventurous he traveled around for a while before settling in Alabama where he progressed in his career to chef de partie under his idol and celebrity Chef, Steve Segul.
After quickly out growing the kitchen he was working in Jimmy made the brave choice to go at it alone and moved to Los Santos with some friends where he had hoped to open his own restaurant. Unfortunately, disaster struck when he suffered an injury due to a car crash not long after arriving. It was at this point that Jimmy gained and admiration for the brave men and women working for the Los Santos Emergency services. At first, he joined the medical department but always had a keen eye on the police force. Once applications had opened he quickly applied, joined and progressed to the rank he holds today.
Officer Jonway is a great example of an Officer, he's a keen and active member of the department. He is an aspiring pilot and hopes to someday join the special weapons and tactics division. We wish him the best of luck with his future endeavors and wish him good luck as he progresses

Traffic Enforcement Division June Update
Hello! This has been one of Traffic Enforcement's best months so far, as we close our 10th month of TED we have been able to once again make some key changes and improvements to our division. We now have even more traffic officers with a total of 48 and we are continuing to put more officers on the streets enforcing the traffic. Our biggest change this month has been introducing a new way to track the performance and activity of our officers in the field when they are doing their traffic duties. This allows us to further improve the division and bring you statistics relating to the divisions activity so you can get a real sense of how much work we do.TED Statistics as of 14/JUN/2019PersonnelCurrently, our ranks are divided as such within TED:
TED Command: 3
Inspector: 2
Traffic Officer III: 5
Traffic Officer II: 15
Traffic Officer I: 12
Probationary Traffic Officer: 11
This month we gained a total of 14 officers, losing 4. We have a very strong roster at the moment and we are still looking to expand and improve our numbers and overall quality of officers too.
Traffic Officer of the monthWe are bringing back the officer of the month award within TED and this month I would like to congratulate Traffic Officer II Robert Jeys for becoming our officer of the month for June! Officer Jeys has shown a huge amount of dedication to TED over the past month putting in over 50 hours into traffic enforcement alone. Officer Jeys has also done a very good job at performing his duties as a traffic officer giving out over 229 citations and performing over 64 traffic stops. I would like to thank officer Jeys for his tremendous efforts in TED and showing such dedication and hard work to the division. I hope to see Jeys continue to move forward in TED and see him helping out with upcoming traffic officers. Congratulations!
Looking forward and closing statementTED is growing at a fantastic rate still, and I am very happy with how far we have come so far. Ever since creating this division in September we have done nothing but strive forward and make great changed within the division and now it is one of the biggest in the department. I hope that this will continue and that we can make TED even better in July and onwards, we have a great team running this division and a great bunch of officers who are taking on the role of being a traffic officer. As for the future, I would like to make more operations happen, we are currently working on one and my aim is to do more in July and make them more frequent with better planning. I love running this division and it's great to see all the people supporting it and I look forward to seeing this get better and better in future.

Statistics
During the month of June, there has been 48 total deployments. Fifteen of them were David Patrols, eight passive deployments, and 25 Active Deployments. This means 52% of all S.W.A.T. Deployments in June were extreme situations. Compared to last month, the number of Active Deployments and Passive Deployments increased significantly but the percent of total serious deployments compared to all deployments lowered by 30%.
This will be addressed within S.W.A.T. due to the lack of passive deployments being logged. We will be making sure that all deployments are logged in this new, correct and efficient way.
Final Thoughts and Moving Forward
This month we have re-opened applications and updated our recruitment process. We have seven new members, and have implemented a waiting list to allow seamless transfer from applicants to empty spaces without having to wait over a month. We hope that moving forward we will be able to keep SWAT full with operatives who deserve to be in their positions.
Thank you all for your hard work and dedicating your lives to protect the civilians of Los Santos.
